What are important things that YOU need to know about this role? 

  • Experience: Bring your expertise in C# development, along with experience using AI tools and technologies. Knowledge of the dental and vision insurance industry is a strong advantage.
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday daytime hours with flexibility built into your schedule.
  • Work Location: This is a 100% remote, permanent work-from-home opportunity, offering the flexibility to do your best work from the comfort of your home.

What will YOU be doing for us?   To design, develop and maintain software applications of varying complexities and on varying tech stacks - in the healthcare space heavily focused on HIPAA EDI transactions.

What will YOU be working on every day? 

  • Actively participate in an Agile scrum team, sizing work efforts and decomposing functionality and iteratively delivering value.
  • Work collaboratively with internal resources to assess and understand technical specifications and business requirements for new systems including data streaming, AI, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain current modules, unit tests, applications or processes in production.
  • Triage production issues and affect solutions 
  • Conduct impact analysis for required changes
  • Investigate technologies and research for solutions related to architecture and requirements 
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various sub systems or client communications when system capabilities must be understood. 
  • Assist in establishing feature estimates and timelines.
  • Perform software design and coding according to SKYGEN accepted secure coding patterns 
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members on investigating and fixing defects 
  • Assist in resolving more complex and escalated operational support as necessary.
  • Develop new processes for currently unsupported or newly legislated HIPAA EDI standards. 
  • Technical Documentation including reverse engineering documentation from existing production code for undocumented legacy processes
  • Responsible use of AI tools, models, and outputs

What qualifications do YOU need to have to be GOOD candidate?

  • Required Level of Education, Licenses, and/or Certificates
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field highly preferred or equivalent years of experience or certification.
  • Required Level of Experience
    • Five to Seven years of professional work experience in software engineering.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of software design and development techniques
    • Knowledge and proficiency in various technical areas
      • Object Oriented Design and Development
      • Relational Database Concepts
      • Secure Coding Patterns (OWASP)
      • Significant Knowledge and experience with at least a few of these: NET Core, RESTful API, C#, React, Angular, JavaScript, data streaming technologies (Kafka/redpanda), SQL Server, SSIS, Azure Document Intelligence Studio, 
    • Basic knowledge of healthcare industry, specifically EDI transactions for Dental and Vision

The salary range and midpoint is listed below for your reference. Please keep in mind that your education and experience along with your knowledge, skills and abilities are taken into consideration when determining placement within the range.

Compensation Range: $114,838 - $172,258

Compensation Midpoint: $143,548
