Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior product leader to define and drive the strategy and execution roadmap for the GridOS Platform, spanning Data Fabric and Foundation. You will set the vision, lead a team of product managers, and own product-line success across adoption, customer outcomes, and financial growth.

This role requires a strategic and technical leader who can balance the unique demands of mission-critical utility systems resiliency, security, and compliance with the opportunities of cloud-native architectures, data interoperability across OT and IT domains, and AI/ML enablement.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the GridOS Platform, including Data Fabric and Foundation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers delivering on platform roadmap execution
  • Position GridOS Platform as the trusted, secure foundation for the entire GridOS ecosystem

Data Strategy & Architecture

  • Drive the on-prem to cloud modernization strategy with hybrid and multi-cloud deployment models.
  • Define and execute strategies for secure OT–IT data integration, ensuring compliance with NERC CIP, FERC, ENTSO-E, Ofgem, and other global standards
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to meet non-functional requirements such as high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity

Platform Execution & Integration

  • Shape the data fabric architecture for federation, virtualization, metadata management, and governance across the grid data ecosystem
  • Evolve GridOS Foundation services (identity, access, telemetry, logging, monitoring, and developer tools) for seamless integration across all GridOS applications.
  • Ensure readiness to support AI/ML Ops pipelines and mission-critical workloads across grid operations and electricity markets.
  • Balance customer requirements for latency, scalability, and security with innovation in cloud, on-prem, and enterprise integration

Market & Customer Impact

  • Engage deeply with customers (T&D utilities, ISOs/RTOs, System Operators) to understand pain points, build trust, and ensure product-market fit
  • Represent GridOS Platform at industry events, customer advisory boards, and standards bodies
  • Drive commercial success through adoption, expansion, and upsell opportunities within GridOS and partner ecosystems

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in product management or product leadership
  • 5+ years in data platform and foundational services roles

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proven leadership of product teams and direct reports (hiring, mentoring, scaling)
  • Strong background in data platforms, hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures, or core platform services
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver products in mission-critical industries (energy, grid, industrial, telecom, finance, etc.)
  • Experience addressing non-functional requirements such as backup/recovery, high availability, and security compliance
  • Ability to engage confidently with executive-level utility customers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent strategic communication and cross-functional leadership
  • Experience in OT/IT integration
  • Background in AI/ML Ops integration with enterprise or operational data platforms
  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS in CS, Engineering or related field)
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes, microservices, containers, data lakes)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
