Position Overview

The Senior Director, Pre-Sales Consulting will lead and expand the Pre-Sales Consulting team, ensuring the alignment of technical expertise and product insights with the broader sales organization. As the Senior Director, you will be responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the pre-sales function, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and driving revenue growth. This role requires a strong understanding of Enterprise SaaS technology, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in pre-sales management.

As a senior leader, you will balance team management with a hands-on approach, demonstrating the expertise and leadership expected at the director level. This role will collaborate closely with sales, product, engineering, and marketing to ensure the success of our clients throughout their journey with Elite Technology.

Work Arrangement: Remote

This role requires the individual to be based in Eastern Standard Time (EST) time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Pre-Sale Consultants, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
  • Develop and implement the pre-sales strategy, aligning it with overall sales goals and market trends.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the pre-sales team, regularly re-porting on progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and proposals.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and value proposition across all pre-sales activities.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering to provide feedback on product development and market needs.
  • Manage the pre-sales budget and resources effectively.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new pre-sales team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve pre-sales processes and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 6–8 years of experience in in pre-sales consulting or a technical pre-sales role, with at least 5 years leading teams in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Proven success in integrating pre-sales consulting into the sales process, collaborating with sales teams to drive revenue and customer success.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS products and solutions, with the ability to guide both Pre-Sales Consultants and customers through complex technical challenges.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategies that drive customer success, retention, and expansion, aligning technical solutions with business outcomes.
  • Proficiency in using data and customer insights to track engagement, monitor performance, and drive key decisions.
  • Expertise in working across sales, product, engineering, and marketing to deliver integrated solutions in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues, develop effective solutions, and provide high-level consulting to customers.
  • Experience leading teams in fast-growing or scaling companies, with a focus on managing global teams and complex customer needs.
  • Familiarity with customer success platforms (e.g., Gainsight) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to optimize team performance.
  • Background in Legal Tech preferred.
  • Ability to travel up 25–50% as business needs require.
  • Role requires the following physical capacity: Sedentary: primarily desk/computer work.
