We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and visionary Senior Director, FP&A to help drive our long-term growth trajectory. Our culture is built on innovation, collaboration, and a relentless focus on delivering value to our customers.

Position Overview:

As the Senior Director, FP&A, you will serve as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team and report directly to the VP of Finance. You’ll lead the evolution of our FP&A function while expanding into broader strategic responsibilities—such as corporate development, valuation modeling, scenario planning, and long-range strategic initiatives. This is a highly visible, high-impact role for someone with a track record of helping companies scale rapidly, navigate fundraising or M&A events, and prepare for potential IPO-readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Corporate Development: Lead the development of long-term strategic plans, including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and company positioning. Support executive decision-making through well-researched, data-backed recommendations. Lead the strategic P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models for the business, collaborating with business partners to reflect business strategy and ensure appropriate visibility and oversight for important spend and metrics.
  • Valuation & Scenario Modeling: Build and manage sophisticated valuation and scenario models to assess investment opportunities, fundraising strategies, and strategic initiatives. Provide actionable insights on capital allocation, pricing strategies, and new market entry.
  • Executive Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team. Translate financial insights into strategic actions, and drive alignment across the leadership team.
  • M&A & IPO Readiness: Own financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence in support of M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships, and IPO planning. Partner with legal and finance teams to ensure readiness for potential transactions.
  • Performance & Board Reporting: Oversee the preparation of high-quality board and investor materials, ensuring clarity on business performance, strategic initiatives, and key financial metrics.
  • Forecasting & Analytics: Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Identify key drivers of performance, and deliver deep insights into financial and operational trends to support optimal decision-making.
  • Scaling Finance Infrastructure: Enhance and scale financial tools, systems, and processes to support a growing, global organization. Champion automation and analytics to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing FP&A and strategic finance team. Foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related fields, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity. Must have experience in high-growth SaaS or tech startups; IPO or M&A transaction experience strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
  • Strategic Acumen: Deep understanding of corporate finance, valuation methodologies, capital markets, and strategic growth planning.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, scenario planning, and valuation analysis. Expertise with Excel and financial planning systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Tableau, etc.).
  • Communication: Exceptional executive presence and communication skills; able to distill complex financial concepts into clear, compelling messages for varied audiences.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Start-up Mentality: Resourceful, agile, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. Strong bias toward action and continuous improvement.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and strategic future of a category-defining company.
  • Growth: Opportunity to grow with a company on the cusp of breakout scale and possible IPO.
  • Culture: Join a driven, collaborative, and forward-thinking team building the next era of computing.
  • Benefits: Competitive compensation, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.

ZEDEDA’s main compensation philosophy is to provide you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop with the company. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
