Senior Director, FP&A – SG&A Oversight & Strategic Cost Management (Spin-Off)
Position Overview
The Senior Director, FP&A will be a key leader within the Finance organization, responsible for end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and governance of the Company’s SG&A cost structure. This role will also play a critical leadership role in tracking, managing, and reporting all costs associated with the business spin-off, ensuring transparency, discipline, and alignment with strategic objectives.
This individual will partner closely with Corporate Functions, Business Leaders, and Executive Leadership to drive financial rigor, improve cost visibility, and support decision-making during a period of significant transformation.
Key Responsibilities
SG&A Financial Leadership
- Lead FP&A oversight for all SG&A functions (e.g., HR, IT, Legal, Finance, etc.)
- Partner with functional leaders to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
- Provide insights and challenge assumptions to ensure cost discipline and strategic alignment
- Drive continuous improvement in cost transparency, reporting accuracy, and forecasting predictability
- Identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and cost leverage across SG&A
Spin-Off Cost Management
- Establish and lead governance for tracking all spin-off-related costs
- Develop clear frameworks to distinguish one-time vs. ongoing costs
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, HR, IT, SMO) to ensure complete and accurate cost capture
- Provide regular executive-level updates on spin-off cost performance vs. plan
- Support reporting requirements for external disclosures and audit readiness (as applicable)
- Identify risks and mitigation actions related to cost overruns or timing delays
Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across corporate functions
- Translate financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Support decision-making related to investments, workforce planning, and operating model changes
- Partner with Accounting and Controllership to ensure alignment between FP&A, reporting, and controls
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards for:
- SG&A performance
- Spin-off cost tracking
- Variance analysis and risk identification
- Leverage data, automation, and analytics tools (including AI where applicable) to enhance insights and efficiency
- Drive standardization and scalability of FP&A processes
Governance & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Establish strong financial governance frameworks for SG&A and transformation-related costs
- Ensure alignment with SOX controls, audit requirements, and corporate policies
- Partner with Internal Audit and Controllership on control design and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred)
- 12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience managing SG&A functions and corporate cost structures
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation initiatives (e.g., spin-offs, restructuring, M&A) strongly preferred
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to operate in a complex, fast-paced, global environment
