This mandate goes beyond system ownership—this leader will redefine how supply, demand, material, and capacity planning operate by re-architecting the digital backbone that enables demand fulfillment, manufacturing responsiveness, inventory optimization, and customer service excellence.

Reporting to the CIO, this leader will define and execute a next-generation Digital Supply Chain strategy, leveraging advanced planning platforms, automation, analytics, and modern data architectures to create a scalable, resilient, and intelligent supply network.

The individual will lead teams of experienced professionals across multiple geographies, providing world-class support for global supply chain planning operations. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership and partnership across Demand Planning, Capacity Planning, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Fabs, Logistics, Finance, Procure to Pay and Plan to Produce processes and IT to improve and automate supply chain planning and execution efficiency.

Strategic Mandate

The Senior Director will lead a transformation agenda focused on:

  • Building an integrated, cloud-enabled planning architecture across manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, and finance
  • Advancing forecasting, scenario modeling, and predictive analytics
  • Elevating automation across material and capacity planning workflows and reducing manual interventions
  • Enabling real-time supply network visibility and control tower capabilities
  • Strengthening master data governance and system resiliency
  • Advancing S&OP / IBP (Integrated Business Planning) maturity across the enterprise

The objective is to shift planning from reactive execution to predictive orchestration.

Core Accountabilities

Digital Architecture & Platform Leadership

  • Own the global Advanced Planning System (APS) ecosystem and ERP integrations.
  • Design scalable integration across ERP, PLM, manufacturing systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Establish governance models for performance, data integrity, standards, and system lifecycle management.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to modernize integration and cloud strategy.

Transformation & Business Impact

  • Lead large-scale modernization initiatives across global stakeholders.
  • Improve forecast accuracy, planning cycle time, service levels, and working capital performance.
  • Embed scenario modeling and digital twin capabilities into executive decision processes.

Advanced Analytics & Automation

  • Deploy predictive modeling and AI-enabled decision support tools.
  • Implement control tower capabilities to synchronize supply-demand signals in real time.
  • Elevate KPI visibility across OTIF, inventory turns, and capacity utilization.
  • Build a data foundation enabling advanced analytics and continuous optimization.

Operational Excellence

  • Own end-to-end accountability for supply planning applications supporting all business units and customer supply requirements.
  • Ensure planning systems are robust, scalable, and responsive to evolving business needs.
  • Oversee advanced planning and execution systems, improving plan automation, forecast stability, and decision velocity.
  • Align planning outputs (factory build plans, material plans, capacity plans) with execution and resolve discrepancies.

Success Metrics

  • Improved OTIF and service performance
  • Measurable increase in forecast accuracy
  • Inventory and working capital optimization
  • Reduction in planning cycle time
  • Increased automation across planning workflows
  • Improved system reliability and integration performance

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a digitally fluent, enterprise-scale leader with:

  • 15+ years of progressive supply chain technology leadership experience
  • Proven success leading APS/ERP transformation programs in global manufacturing environments
  • Deep expertise in advanced planning platforms (e.g., Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, or equivalent)
  • Strong ERP ecosystem knowledge (Oracle preferred)
  • Experience integrating planning systems with PLM and manufacturing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI/ML to supply chain planning and decision support
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence at C-level and board level
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Leadership Characteristics

The successful candidate will:

  • Think architecturally and execute pragmatically
  • Balance operational stability with bold innovation
  • Translate data into enterprise decisions
  • Operate comfortably in high-complexity, high-velocity environments
  • Inspire teams to build the future, not just maintain the present

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
