Job Description

The Senior Director, Corporate FP&A will be responsible for leading financial planning and analysis for Visa Inc. Operating Expense, conducting rigorous analysis to inform capital allocation decisions, liaising with operations support functions, and providing broad decision support to executives.

This role will be responsible for understanding all dynamics underpinning Visa’s operating expense base.  This is a highly visible role that includes frequent interaction with senior management and other key internal stakeholders. The Senior Director, Corporate FP&A will have significant experience in leading a global financial team while establishing strong business and financial planning processes, quantitative modeling, budgeting, building strategic frameworks, and driving critical financial decisions. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively interact and influence across a matrix business organizational structure and closely liaison with finance and business teams.

Essential Functions:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
• Direct the global budgeting and forecasting of Opex, including quantitative analysis of Visa’s key expense drivers.
     o Assess Visa specific business drivers and their corresponding impact on financials
     o    Deliver forecast analytics and insights that result in a corporate perspective of the forecast/budget
• Drive the Company’s investment process by providing analytical support of capital allocation decisions and ensuring investments are regularly tracked and evaluated against key success criteria
Strategic Analysis:
• Conduct in depth financial analysis in support of quarterly Board of Directors meeting and company earnings
     o    Prepare succinct and clear executive presentations that simplify complex topics, often with time sensitive deliverables
     o    Become an expert on Visa’s expense drivers, tools, and processes
     o    Work closely with investor relations and external reporting in preparation 
      for earnings
• Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across the organization. Conduct regular meetings with global and regional FP&A counterparts to stay informed on key drivers of Visa’s performance across regions and products.
• Lead and coordinate ad hoc quantitative and qualitative analyses as needed and provide decision support to executives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Business from a premier institution preferred.
• 10+ years of experience with a mix of experiences Finance function or with relevant experience in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, or corporate finance.
• 6+ years’ experience in leading and managing a world class team.
• Strong people manager with exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Extraordinary analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment.
• Advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint required.
• Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred. A deep understanding of the payment’s ecosystem would be a plus.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to create compelling messages to senior executives and external business partners.
• Strong strategic thought leadership.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with Global Functions and Regions.
• Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 200,000.00 to 275,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
