Job Overview

PrizePicks is the largest, fastest-growing daily fantasy sports platform in North America. As we evolve from a breakout product into a culturally resonant brand, we’re investing in best-in-class talent to help us scale. This means building a real-time, content-first, fan-connected social and community engine—led by someone who knows sports, understands digital culture, and can turn moments into momentum.

The Role

We’re looking for a bold, strategic, and sports & culturally fluent Sr. Director of Community & Social Media to lead PrizePicks’ social presence and community engine. This is not a behind-the-scenes role—it’s a front-row seat to the biggest moments in sports, culture, and fandom. You’ll shape how PrizePicks shows up in the world: what we say, how we say it, and how we spark connections with fans at the speed of the game.

This leader will oversee four core pillars: social content & storytelling, live game-time activation, community development, and social insights & intelligence. You’ll manage a high-performing team of creatives, content strategists, and community managers—all focused on turning cultural moments into brand momentum.

From NFL Sundays to NBA tip-offs, from TikTok trends to Discord debates, you’ll drive a best-in-class social and community strategy that’s fan-first, data-informed, and platform-native. Your mission: make PrizePicks one of the most engaging, talked-about, and culturally relevant brands in sports.

What you’ll do:Social Content & Storytelling
  • Own and evolve the social strategy & content vision across Meta/Instagram, X, TikTok, Discord, and emerging platforms
  • Build a repeatable, editorialized content system blending evergreen narratives, product storytelling, and cultural sports moments
  • Collaborate and manage key Creative agency partners and vendors to concept and produce high-quality, social-first series and campaign extensions
  • Stay ahead of platform innovations and emerging tech (eg, AI content tools), bringing a test-and-learn mindset to the team
  • Manage the content calendar across platforms, aligning with brand and promotional priorities
Live Game-Time Coverage & Real-Time Social
  • Lead real-time social output strategy, driving engagement by activating brand voice with speed and impact, especially during key live sports moments
  • Build a scalable live coverage system with prepped templates, team shifts, and escalation protocols
  • Create timely, culturally relevant content that celebrates user wins, athlete milestones, and in-app moments
  • Partner cross-functionally to spotlight live product experiences during peak game windows
Community Development & Engagement
  • Grow and nurture a vibrant fan community across Discord, Instagram, X, TikTok, Reddit and more
  • Develop engagement programs that reward loyalty, spark conversation, and spotlight superfans
  • Moderate and engage with the community in a witty, responsive, and brand-right voice
  • Work with the Live Events & Experiential team to develop a cohesive plan that enables our passionate online communities to engage with both the company and with each other offline / IRL, too, especially during relevant key sports moments throughout the year.
  • Partner with CX, CRM, and Product to close feedback loops and turn user input into action
Social Intelligence & Reporting
  • Build and own a robust social measurement and insights framework tied to business goals, extracting actionable intelligence and understanding key trends from social listening and performance dashboards
  • Deliver clear, narrative-driven reports to cross-functional and executive stakeholders, illustrating the connection between social/community impact and company / business goals
  • Use social data to influence brand strategy, content strategy, product innovation, and cultural positioning
Lead a World-Class Team
  • Build, grow, mentor and lead a world-class team.  Set clear goals and priorities.  Track progress towards key milestones.  Coach and mentor direct reports and skip-level staff to ensure everyone on the team has a crisp and clear career development plan and growth opportunities within the organization.
  • Be an active, vocal leader within the Marketing Leadership Team as part of the CMO’s direct reporting staff.
What you have:
  • 10–12+ years of experience leading social media, content, or community teams—preferably in sports, gaming, media, or culturally driven consumer brands
  • Deep fluency in NFL and NBA—including league narratives, player storylines, game schedules, and fan culture
  • Comfortable leading during live events, managing real-time publishing, and reacting with speed and accuracy
  • Highly analytical and great with data
  • Editorial thinker with strong instincts around visual storytelling, content formats, and tone of voice
  • Experienced people leader who can inspire a team and roll up your sleeves when needed
  • Familiar with Discord, social analytics (including social listening tools), scheduling tools, and modern production workflows
  • Passionate about creating content that fans care about and building brand equity that lasts
Where you’ll live:
  • While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
