ServiceNow Spark Team:

As part of the Spark Team, you will operate as an IC3 Senior Demo Designer: a strong independent contributor who delivers high-quality design work within defined project areas. You will use advanced Figma craft, prototyping, and visual storytelling to turn early product ideas into clear, compelling concepts that support team alignment, customer understanding, and leadership communication. You will partner closely with design, product, engineering, research, and storytelling teams to clarify problems, explore solutions, incorporate feedback, and deliver polished artifacts that help others understand the value of future product experiences.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Deliver independently within defined scope by taking assigned innovation concepts, demo moments, or product stories from rough direction to polished design artifacts with clear milestones and reliable execution.

  • Demonstrate strong Figma craft by creating component-based designs, auto layout structures, variants, clickable prototypes, and presentation-ready screens that are organized, reusable, and easy for partners to understand.

  • Translate product ideas into clear stories by shaping customer needs, product direction, and experience goals into simple narratives, demo flows, storyboards, and visual sequences.

  • Explore and iterate on design solutions by moving quickly from sketches and rough flows to high-fidelity prototypes, incorporating feedback from cross-functional partners along the way.

  • Build high-fidelity prototypes using Figma, AI-powered prototyping tools, and code-assisted workflows.

  • Create proof-of-concepts that help evaluate emerging AI experiences and future product directions.

  • Maintain reusable prototype frameworks, starter kits, and interaction patterns that increase team velocity.

  • Support experimentation with new prototyping methods and AI-enabled design workflows.

  • Communicate design decisions clearly by explaining the rationale behind flows, visuals, interactions, and storytelling choices in critiques, working sessions, and leadership reviews.

  • Collaborate effectively across functions by partnering with product, engineering, research, design, and Executive Storytelling teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity, and align on the intended experience.

  • Contribute to team practices and standards by sharing examples, templates, Figma patterns, and lightweight documentation that help the immediate team improve consistency and speed.

  • Raise the quality of concept work through strong visual design fundamentals, interaction polish, narrative clarity, and attention to detail across screens, prototypes, and presentation assets.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product design, visual design, interaction design, innovation design, or related experience, with a strong focus on digital product experiences.

  • Proven ability to operate as a strong independent contributor, delivering high-quality design work within defined project scope while managing ambiguity, feedback, and iteration.

  • Advanced Figma skills, including component-based design, auto layout, variants, prototyping, organized file structure, design systems patterns, and presentation-quality visual execution.

  • Strong storytelling ability, with experience translating customer needs, product ideas, and strategic direction into clear narratives, demo flows, storyboards, and leadership-ready presentations.

  • Ability to create high-fidelity concept screens, clickable prototypes, visual systems, and presentation assets that communicate complex ideas simply and persuasively.

  • Experience with AI-assisted prototyping workflows.

  • Experience building prototypes using code-assisted tools.

  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based architecture.

  • Experience creating realistic product simulations for concept validation and executive storytelling.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working with product, engineering, research, design, and storytelling partners to clarify requirements, incorporate feedback, and align on outcomes.

  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain design rationale, articulate tradeoffs, and present work confidently in critiques, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews.

  • Strong visual and interaction design fundamentals, including layout, hierarchy, typography, flow, interaction patterns, and motion-aware design thinking.

  • Working knowledge of motion, video, animation, 3D, or emerging AI-assisted design workflows is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA, BFA, or equivalent practical experience in Product Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Communication, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency with Figma and modern digital design workflows, with the ability to produce polished, well-structured files and prototypes independently.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
