ParentSquare is a rapidly growing Santa Barbara-based company that’s changing the way schools and parents communicate every day. Sound simple? We strive to keep it that way! Our mission is to give schools the power to incredibly enhance family engagement for all students. ParentSquare and RemindHub, our flagship products, serve over 22 million students and drive our mission by providing unified communications tools -forms, sign ups, payments, RSVPs, direct messaging, language translations, chat and more. Remind Chat, our free product, reaches over 80% of K-12 students, providing a safe and easy-to-use platform for direct communication between teachers and families. And our latest innovation, SmartSites, offers state-of-the-art websites for school districts, enhancing their online presence and accessibility.

We are not just creating a product; we are creating empowered educators and engaged parents to improve the lives of all students.  We are passionate advocates for our  customers and for our employees and we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

You're naturally curious and relentlessly analytical, with a proven track record of delivering analysis that actually moved the needle. You know when to build the right solution and when to just get it done - and you communicate that call and the tradeoffs behind it clearly. Your instinct is to lead with insight and land on action, and you can bring any audience along for that journey regardless of their technical background. You're a collaborative team player who elevates the people around you, and you don't take yourself too seriously. A sense of humor is required.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with Teams: Work directly with departments like Finance, Customer Success, and Product to understand their data needs, be their thought partner and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Build and Deploy Solutions: Prototype and launch data-powered tools and automations, both for our customers and for the company.
  • Define and Track What Matters: Help teams establish meaningful success metrics and build data products that report to monitor them.
  • Balance Speed and Rigor: Recognize when to move fast with a pragmatic solution and when to invest in building the right system - and communicate those tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Champion Data Adoption: Create clear documentation, lead training sessions, and act as the internal expert to help teams more effectively use data tools within their workflows.
  • Raise the Bar: Contribute to and evolve data science standards and practices across the team.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven success working in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related quantitative field
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Fluency in Python and SQL; comfortable working across the full analytics stack
  • Experience with statistical methods and ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, gradient boosting, topic modeling, etc.) - and the judgment to know when to use them
  • Hands-on experience with modern data and analytics platforms (dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, Tableau, Omni, QuickSight, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver across the full range - from a quick ad hoc pull to a company-wide dashboard
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with LLMs and other AI tools for analytics is a bonus!
What You'll Bring
  • Proven success working in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • Fluency in scripting languages like Python and data querying languages like SQL
  • Experience working in analytics platforms (we use AWS tools like Sagemaker and QuickSuite)
  • Experience with a variety of machine learning algorithms, such as regression, gradient boosted trees, and topic modeling
  • Experience understanding and delivering on stakeholder needs, whether through an adhoc analysis or a company-level dashboard
  • Experience with LLMs and other AI tools for analytics is a bonus
The Perks of Working With Us

You’ll get your foot in the door as our company continues to grow. We’re big believers in work-life balance and provide:

  • Employer-paid health insurance (including dependent coverage)
  • An employer-matched 401K retirement savings program from day 1
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Stock options
  • Health + wellness reimbursements
  • PTO that increases each year
  • 15 paid holidays, including your birthday!

As a fully remote team, we’ll make sure you have all the tools and equipment you need to make your home office a place where you can thrive.

We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.

The salary range for this role will be $143,000-$175,000, DOE.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
