The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leveraging your expertise to develop and contribute to data visualization and data science efforts in support of new product development, sustaining innovation, understanding of how products work, and how they are most effectively utilized
• Building and deploying machine learning models to accelerate R&D, product utilization, and related business decisioning
• Integrating machine learning into simulation-based models from a variety of scientific and engineering disciplines
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to build capabilities and applications to solve emerging challenges

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Ph.D. in STEM discipline with a focus on data science confirmed before negotiated start date

OR

• M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, or STEM discipline with a focus on data science methods and three (3) years data science experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Strong scientific and technical acumen, with demonstrated interest and ability to make connections between science/technology and real-world concerns
• Experience scripting (Python, Golang, shell)
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation) as well as networking skills, self-motivation, and self-direction. 
• 3-4 years of experience in a healthcare business contributing to and carrying out data science or machine learning projects
• Experience with natural language processing/understanding models
• Experience with Large Language Models and LLM-RAGs
• Experience working in a research and development environment
• Ability to deal with the ambiguity of early-stage scouting, proof-of-concept development, evaluation of new opportunities and the flexibility to change direction as additional information becomes available

Work location:

• Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week)

Travel: May include up to 10 % domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $137,439 - $167,981, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
