As a Senior Data Scientist, Credit Strategy, you’ll be responsible for performing exploratory data analysis, feature engineering to provide actionable business insights and build credit strategies in our model building environment. You’ll delve into the recesses of large data sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to identify avenues for business growth, leverage that knowledge to develop and implement credit strategies.

About the Role

  • Oversee the development and execution of credit strategies for affiliate partners, ensuring that the personal loan offers are competitive, sustainable and aligned with the company’s goals
  • Develop and implement credit and fraud risk assessment methodologies and tools, leveraging strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the credit industry
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data and translate that to build and implement proposals ensuring the strategic alignment of credit-based initiatives
  • Utilize programing programs to extract and manipulate data, conduct data analysis and build credit and fraud risk strategies
  • Building compelling data visualizations and distilling key informative messages clearly from large amounts of data
  • Use data analytics to assess the impact of credit on affiliate performance, present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management, to support decisions-making process

About You

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 4+ years of financial industry experience leveraging large sets of data to build credit strategy with a focus on personal loans or related lending products
  • Master’s degree in business, statistics, STEM, economics or a related field
  • Expert in data tools for data extraction, manipulation and analysis, including SQL or Python. Strong hands-on data and analytical skills
  • Create graphs, charts or other visualizations to convey the results of data analysis
  • Own the coding and deployment of applicable models for business projects
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to develop and support our internal data platform to support ongoing analyses
  •  Strong ability to develop and present business proposals aimed at enhancing originations and optimizing portfolio performance. Ability to analyze complex financial data, make informed credit decisions and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing junior analysts or data scientists providing mentorship and direction

Colorado, New York City, Jersey City, California, D.C and Washington Candidates only: the compensation for this position is $73,500.00-$164,500.00. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
