These are the dedicated employees who keep our world running – from baristas to nurses, cleaners to delivery drivers, florists to factory workers. Despite their vital role in society, most workplace technology has focused on those workers who sit behind a desk, but at Deputy, we transform the frontline. When businesses use Deputy, their workplaces thrive – the business is more profitable, compliant, and productive, while the workers are more engaged and happier at work.

If you’re passionate about creating solutions that put people first and helping businesses and their teams thrive, join us at Deputy and make an impact where it matters most!

As a Learning Experience Designer, you'll design, maintain, and test in-product learning experiences. You'll apply expertise in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, and user onboarding to strategically scope, design, build, and test effective user journeys using WalkMe and other tools.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver optimal user experiences and maximize client value, gain a deep understanding of the challenges our clients face.
  • Design, scope, build, and test high-quality guided experiences utilizing WalkMe, a Digital Adoption Platform.
  • Work with commercial, product, design, and engineering teams to ensure a cohesive user experience.
  • Establish success metrics and analyze data to prioritize work based on business objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong background in Instructional Design, UX, and Adult Learning, coupled with experience in Digital Adoption Platforms like WalkMe (preferred), Pendo, or Whatfix.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and jQuery selectors.
  • Practical understanding of agentic AI and AI chatbots for support.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for precise technical builds and clear communication.
  • Able to independently manage diverse projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Embraces uncertainty and is eager to learn and experiment.

The salary range for this position takes into account multiple factors that are all considered to determine an individual candidate’s starting pay. These factors include but are not limited to: market factors, experience, technical and non-technical skills, education, certifications, and other business acumen. This range does not include any potential incentive programs, such as individual or organizational performance bonuses.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
