About VideoAmp

VideoAmp is the tech-first measurement company transforming how advertising is valued, bought, and sold. Powered by currency-grade big data and a best-in-class technology stack, our platform gives advertisers, agencies, and digital partners the ability to plan, optimize, and measure media investments across every screen — from linear TV and OTT to CTV and digital video.

VideoAmp is accelerating investment in agentic AI and intelligent optimization technologies — helping clients drive measurable, real-world outcomes in an increasingly complex media landscape. With 880% year-over-year measurement growth, 98% coverage of the TV ecosystem, and partnerships with 11 agency groups and 1,000+ advertisers, we're not just keeping pace with the industry — we're defining what comes next.

We believe great work requires great people — people who say "I'll find a way" instead of "it can't be done."

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel who will serve as a trusted legal partner across the business, advising all commercial transactions and strategic initiatives that support our mission to transform the media measurement landscape. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to navigate complex legal matters, manage risk, and help scale our legal function as the company continues to grow. This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide analysis and advice on contractual matters for the Company.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts, including: SaaS, partnership, licensing, data, distribution, consulting, confidentiality, and other business and legal documents.
  • Serve on a team of commercial attorneys on all revenue agreements and guide and support other team members and stakeholders.
  • Support data, privacy, and product related matters by assisting with the data privacy program, advising on product development, and advising on the Company’s data compliance.
  • Assist with legal operations including implementation of efficient workflows between various teams, management of IronClad, document retention program, and the like.
  • Serve as a generalist to support the General Counsel, lead counsels, legal team, and stakeholders on all legal matters. With a small team, we all do a bit of everything and we are looking for an attorney who is willing to take on (and lead) anything on any subject matter and learn.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to be agile in providing solutions. We deliver a high volume of work in a short period of time and the ability to comprehend issues and risks quickly will be an important skill, as well as the ability to communicate related risks clearly to decision makers. The ability to quickly provide solutions and options is highly valued.
  • Anticipate, provide timely evaluation and guidance on, and propose mitigation strategies on, potential risks in contractual, privacy, compliance, financial, and legal areas.
  • Develop and provide education and training to the Sales team, as well as other teams as needed.
  • Assist counsel with corporate governance matters on an as-needed basis.
  • May need to manage other areas of the business such as HR and insurance.

What You'll Bring

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 5-8 years of experience working both at a law firm and in-house, preferably in technology and/or digital media companies.
  • Current member in good standing of the California or New York bar.
  • Experience in legal operations/automation, commercial transactions, privacy, data licensing, and product.
  • Experience in commercial sales transactions and revenue deals, preferably with a large company or firm.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting commercial transactions with large media companies (agencies, programmers, and/or distributors) and television publishers.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in interactions with customers, partners, and all levels of employees.
  • Confident understanding of contracts.
  • Knowledgeable about data privacy law and experience reviewing DPAs and data license agreements. Experience implementing data privacy programs and processes in-house and project managing privacy matters.
  • Be the state privacy knowledgeable attorney for the commercial team for general privacy related questions.
  • Ability to work well with others, curious, super-smart, passionate about what you do and fired up about the opportunity ahead for VideoAmp. We mean it when we say teamwork is critical here!
  • Developed business acumen, with ability to understand the company’s business and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various settings.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
