We are in relentless pursuit of an equitable and inspiring workplace that is respectful of all, reflects and represents the world in which we live, and fosters trust, collaboration and belonging. Consistent with this approach, we hire the best qualified candidates for all positions.

UEG is looking for a Senior Copywriter to work on a strong roster of influential brands across entertainment, sports, lifestyle, food and beverage, tech, hospitality, fashion, and consumer goods brands. This role calls for a big thinker able to ideate culturally relevant, PR-able ideas capable of generating national earned media, from conception to creation. The right candidate will leverage their passion for cultural trends in social, sports, fashion, beauty, music, and design to create everything from stunts, IRL experiences and events, to traditional TVC and radio campaigns in a fast-paced environment.

Our team drives some of the world’s most buzz-worthy work, like Samsung’s Live on the Edge, the Kith x Tony the Tiger partnership, and launch of adidas’ latest line of golf shorts at the 2026 PGA Tour Championship. Here, we don’t just follow culture; we aim to change it.

This is not a plug-and-play role. As an earned-first agency, we shape our ideas around the story we want to tell—not the media plan. What we sell in shifts with every brief – one day it's a reactive TikTok idea, the next it's a 360 campaign with PR, influencer, digital, and brand film components. We’re looking for sharp thinkers and culture junkies who thrive in creative chaos. Most of the work we do is project-based, so you should be well-versed and built to handle the ups and downs of heavily pitch-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Create and write campaign ideas for client projects and new business pitches that are earned-first and social by design
  • Participate in high-level concepting, tactical program ideation, and copywriting for a wide range of marketing 360 campaigns, with an earned-first mindset
  • Own the brand story for our clients, maintaining a consistent voice and vision
  • Successfully communicate (present and sell-in) creative ideas, their rationale, and the specifics of the solutions
  • Collaborate with agency team members from creative, account, production, technology, PR, strategy, planning and analytics to produce smart, powerful work

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you'll be expected to partner across disciplines, confidently lead and own projects with assistance from Creative Directors, and communicate directly with clients
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, take ownership from concept through execution, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and an entrepreneurial, team-first mindset
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in English or related major, or relevant work experience
  • Killer short-form and long-form writing skills, with a keen sense for solid grammar, editing and proofreading
  • Literate in the language of the internet and social. Should be comfortable executing everything from an organic TikTok campaign to writing signage at a stunt or activation.
  • Demonstrated ability to concept across a variety of mediums: social, digital, print, TV, audio, experiential and whatever comes next.
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptualize creatively and see the concept through from concept to execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment

Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be considered.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
