This role is a hybrid role that requires 3 days a week in the Walnut Creek Office

The Senior Consumer Insights Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the Learning Agenda, encompassing both qualitative and quantitative research initiatives. This role involves communicating key findings to internal stakeholders, and fostering a deeper understanding of consumer behavior to inform advertising, AAA Member acquisition, product line optimizations, positioning and more. The ideal candidate will independently lead research planning and execution, demonstrating expertise in selecting appropriate methodologies to address research objectives. This individual possesses an excellent understanding of standard research methodologies and is a trusted thought partner, sought after for their insightful perspectives and research expertise. The Senior Consumer Insights Manager thrives on ambiguous questions, effectively helping teams refine their objectives and translate them into business-oriented research plans. Exceptional presentation skills are essential, with comfort and proficiency in presenting to internal stakeholders at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES

Custom Research Execution 

  • Manage and executive multiple research projects simultaneously with seamless execution, ensuring high quality work, and close collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Lead vendor and agency partner research projects to select the best methodology and tools to maximize learning and value from projects.

  • Manages outside vendors on projects that could include brand equity tracking, positioning, communication and advertising testing, new product concept and product testing, and larger strategic projects.

  • Be a strategic thought leader and collaborate with cross-functional partners such as product, digital, sales, analytics, etc.

Reporting 

  • Be able to create senior leadership ready reports with actionable insights to help drive business decisions.

  • Be able to translate data into storytelling that simply and concisely advises on key insights and business recommendations.

  • Have the ability to convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.

  • Have the ability to pull disparate pieces of data together, analyze data, uncover insights and then create concise and compelling stories to bring those insights to life.

Voice of the Customer 

  • Deep understanding of Qualtrics, including survey programming, Stats IQ, Dashboard creation, embedded data implementation, sample integration and trouble shooting.

  • Be a curious, creative thinker who champions the voice of the consumer.

Trends 

  • Incorporate macro trends into everyday activities and articulate how these trends influence our Members mindset and purchase behaviors.

  • Distill secondary research into synthesized insights to help the organization understand how macro, consumer and industry trends affect our business.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Evidence of strong quantitative and qualitative research experience, including ad testing, brand tracking, value proposition research, max diff, conjoint, TURF and more. 

  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors end-to-end on projects, including RFP, timeline, methodology and reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills, and understanding of statistics and data.

  • Experience with Qualtrics research platform, including survey programming, sample deployment, implementation, dashboard creation and crosstabs/stats IQ. 

  • Strong story telling skills, both visual (creating graphs and data visualization through ppt and google slides) written, and oral. 

  • Exceptional skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, etc.

  • Proven track record of turning consumer research into actionable insights to drive business decisions. 

  • Ability to self-prioritize and deliver against competing concurrent projects. Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to seek out and build relationships within the business to become a trusted and valued strategic partner. 

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, while also being able to work independently. 

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, marketing, psychology, consumer behavior or related discipline plus 8 years of experience in market research or consumer insights field
    • Or a Master's degree in a related area plus 6 years of experience in market research or consumer insights field

We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $129,234.00 - Mid: $161,542.00- Max: $193,849.00
