Location: Remote (Eastern Standard Time Zone preferred)

Position Summary: 

The Compensation Analyst will research job requirements and evaluate and maintain, job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries and employee benefits. 

 Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range. 
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position. 
  • Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary scales. 
  • Collect and compile HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS), competitors practices, and other sources. 
  • Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information. 
  • Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job. 
  • Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. 
  • Evaluate and implement job analysis instruments and materials. 
  • Research employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommends changes or updates to the company’s existing benefits or policies. 
  • Plan and communicate preferred methods and best practices for compensating and evaluating employees. 
  • Prepare reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership. 
  • Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies. 
  • Maintain HRIS job and compensation information. 
  • May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt. 
  • May assist HR leadership with staffing, recruiting, and departmental budgets. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and HR policies. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS, payroll, and similar employee management software. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field required. 
  • CCP, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. 
  • At least five years of experience as a compensation analyst required. 

 Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. 

This position description is designed to be flexible, allowing management the opportunity to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities as needed to best meet organizational goals.

Salary Range
$89,000$110,000 USD
