Job Title: Social Media and Communications Specialist (Temporary)

Your Mission
As a Social Media & Communications Specialist, you will help shape how Activision engages audiences both externally and internally. You will lead day-to-day social media content and channel management while supporting employee communications that drive clarity, consistency, and engagement across the organization.
You will partner closely with PR teams, leadership, external agencies, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful communications that strengthen culture, amplify key messages, and support broader brand and business objectives.
This role operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where priorities evolve quickly. Success means establishing a strong and trusted communications cadence, delivering high-quality content and communications, elevating engagement across social and internal channels, and helping scale storytelling efforts while maintaining accuracy, tone, and alignment with leadership and company priorities.
This role also serves as a key contributor to Activision's communications function, helping connect employees and external audiences to the stories, achievements, and priorities that shape our business and culture.
Based in our headquarters in Santa Monica, this role follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs.
This is a temporary position with the potential to convert to a regular full-time role. We are looking for a communications professional who is excited to contribute across social media and internal communications while growing alongside our team.
What You Bring to the Table
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Social Media & External Communications
Lead and support the company’s social media brand-building efforts, including content ideation, channel expansion, copywriting, publishing, monitoring, community engagement, and performance reporting
Develop, maintain, and execute on social content calendars aligned with company priorities, communications initiatives, and key business moments
Monitor social media trends, conversations, and opportunities to increase engagement, reach, and brand visibility
Partner with PR teams, external partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to amplify key announcements and campaigns across social channels
Track social media performance and provide recommendations based on analytics, audience insights, and engagement trends
Internal Communications
Execute internal communications programs in partnership with communications team leads, ensuring timely, clear, and engaging updates across the organization
Draft and publish internal communications, including employee announcements, intranet content, newsletters, company product messages, presentations, talking points, and Slack communications
Support employee engagement initiatives, toolkit, team spotlights and company-wide communication campaigns
Help maintain editorial calendars and communications plans that support employee engagement and business priorities
Create time-sensitive messaging and evaluate audience sentiment to ensure effectiveness and alignment with communication objectives
Communications & PR Support
Partner with PR teams, leadership, external agencies, and cross-functional teams to support broader communications strategy and storytelling initiatives
Support broader PR and communications initiatives including press events, asset management, reporting, and vendor coordination
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering against deadlines in a dynamic environment
Track, analyze, and report on social media and communications performance, using insights to inform future content and engagement strategies
Minimum Requirements
Experience
3+ years of experience in social media, communications, public relations, internal communications, or a related field
Experience managing and expanding reach on social media channels for a brand or organization
Experience developing written communications for employee, executive, or external audiences
Experience working independently and collaboratively with internal and external communications partners
Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred
Strong written communication, editing, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail
Proficient at leveraging traditional and digital communication strategies, including social media platforms, to drive storytelling and messaging
Familiarity with social media analytics, reporting tools, and performance measurement
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines consistently

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $27.42 - $50.72 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
