FIGS is looking for a Senior Color Associate to support the Color Manager and wider production team. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in color and textiles, is motivated, extremely organized, detail oriented and a great communicator. They must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines and work closely with partners in Raw Materials, Design and Merchandising. You will work to commercialize seasonal palettes, analyze lab dips and print strike-offs, through the development process, and act as the keeper of color integrity through production. You will ensure that colors meet our color matching and colorfastness tolerances, adhere to the calendar deadlines, and represent the Color Team in cross functional meetings. The Senior Color Associate will help assure our product and quality is built with integrity, intention and aligned with our brand vision and values.  This role will report to the Color Manager.


What You’ll Do::

  • Conduct approval of all lab dips, print strike-offs, screen prints for development and production, ensuring color consistency within garments and coordination within deliveries.
  • Communicate Color to overseas offices and vendors using standard textile language.
  • Request, Track, Chart and follow up on  all lab dips and bulk fabrics from development to production.
  • Upkeep all Centric data management on a daily basis.
  • Ensure color comments are made to partners and records are kept up to date internally and externally on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a 24-hour turnaround time with comments.
  • Create color cards and order color standards for the color team library and distribute them to the design team.  as needed
  • Understanding of T&A and deadlines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Understand color feasibility and educate cross functional partners regarding limitations
  • Maintain Color Department SOPs
  • Can intuitively assist in understanding solutions for metamerism issues
  • Understands the full depth of color analysis from deltas, temperatures, quadrants, and tolerances.
  • Review color feasibility report of  color palette with Color Manager and Design in order to ensure all colors dipped for the season will pass FIGS testing 
  • Investigate and resolve color issues that arise in partnership with QC and Production Teams.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Sort all incoming color mail. 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-7 years background in textile design and color/fabric knowledge.
  • Superior score on Munsell Hue Test.
  • Knowledge of dyes and dyeing techniques and printing techniques for varied fiber contents and fabric structures; knowledge of textile structures and their influence on color appearance; knowledge of industry/fabric/color/testing standards
  • Proficiency in PC operation, MS office, Excel and color/design systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize (sense of urgency) and attention to detail required
  • Understanding of visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accurate and consistent technique: ability to use light box and spectrophotometer.
  • Ability to differentiate color and accurately and consistently describe color differences
  • Excellent color sense and understanding of color depth, value, saturation and cast.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-pace, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.

FIGS Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range

  • At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role's base salary range is between $66,000 and $95,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
