The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports, configures, and improves business processes in SAP S/4HANA, with a primary focus on end-to-end Order-to-Cash (OTC), including customer order management, pricing, fulfillment, billing, and returns. The role partners with business stakeholders to translate requirements into system solutions, resolve operational issues, and improve process efficiency across Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales Operations, and Warehouse Operations.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on SAP S/4HANA configuration and troubleshooting skills with strong business analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of complex system enhancements and production support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own functional support and continuous improvement of the end-to-end OTC process in SAP S/4HANA, from customer sales order creation and pricing through availability checks, delivery, billing, returns, and integration with accounts receivable.
  • Configure and maintain customer and sales master data, sales document types, item categories, schedule lines, pricing conditions, output, and copy control to support accurate order processing and billing.
  • Analyze and resolve OTC issues affecting pricing, order entry, credit checks, backorder processing, fulfillment, invoicing, and customer service; identify root causes and implement sustainable fixes.
  • Own functional requirements for sales and inventory interfaces, including data mapping, transaction flows, error handling, reconciliation, and monitoring.
  • Serve as the IT liaison with business partners for the integration of medical software that supports clinical workflows and related product needs. Define requirements for sharing sales and inventory information with SAP S/4HANA so teams can coordinate orders, fulfillment, and inventory visibility.
  • Partner with developers, medical software stakeholders, and business teams to design, test, and support the exchange of relevant customer, product, sales order, fulfillment, and inventory data within the approved integration scope.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations on SAP Inventory Management and EWM integration, including deliveries, goods movements, inventory adjustments, and stock transfers. Support MyMediSet activities for surgical case booking, set administration and tracking, field inventory visibility and reconciliation, sales order coordination, and returns; investigate inventory and fulfillment discrepancies across systems.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, and Finance to maintain end-to-end order-to-cash and fulfillment processes.
  • Coordinate with Finance analysts to ensure invoices, credit and debit memos, revenue postings, and inventory accounting transactions flow accurately through the OTC process; resolve related posting and reconciliation issues.
  • Work with ABAP and integration teams on SAP Integration Suite/CPI, IDocs, APIs, and other applicable interface technologies; document functional specifications and validate technical solutions.
  • Gather business requirements, assess SAP standard capabilities, propose configuration or interface changes, and maintain functional and process documentation.
  • Lead or support unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing; prepare test cases, validate interface results, coordinate defect resolution, and support cutover and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Participate in SAP releases, enhancements, and upgrades, including impact assessment, change control, training materials, and production support.

Requirements
  • At least three years of hands-on SAP experience, including SAP S/4HANA configuration, production support, and ownership of OTC processes.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end OTC processes, including customer orders, pricing, availability checks, delivery processing, billing, returns, and integration with Finance, Inventory Management, and SAP EWM.
  • Experience defining and supporting sales and inventory interfaces with external applications, including data mapping, monitoring, reconciliation, and error resolution.
  • Ability to lead business discussions, translate requirements into functional specifications, and coordinate with developers, integration teams, vendors, and business partners.
  • Experience with IDocs, APIs, and SAP Integration Suite/CPI or comparable SAP integration technologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and testing skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and investigate issues across systems.
  • Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or another regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience integrating SAP with medical software, healthcare workflows, or other external business applications preferred.
  • SAP S/4HANA certification relevant to OTC business processes and familiarity with Jira or similar delivery tools preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
