Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SSRS reports, Power BI dashboards, and SQL Server queries to support data-driven decision-making. This role requires expertise in SQL Server development, performance optimization, and data visualization to improve reporting and analytical capabilities.

The successful candidate must be flexible, self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with experience in a fast-paced third-party logistics environment. They must possess strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of the organization, as well as function well within a team context. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong desire to develop application software expertise and a passion for assisting business users in maximizing the use of date from WMS applications. Patience, innovation, and persistence in overcoming resistance to change are essential.

This role requires continuous documentation, support issues and resolutions, user feedback, and frequently asked questions. The candidate should also have the confidence to challenge legacy reporting processes, encourage Business Intelligence (BI) best practices.
 

Key Responsibilities:

SSRS Reports Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports to provide actionable insights.
  • Optimize existing reports for better performance and usability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and improve reporting solutions.

Power BI Dashboard Development:

  • Create interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards.
  • Implement data modeling and DAX calculations to enhance dashboard functionality.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security in Power BI reports.

SQL Server Development & Optimization:

  • Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
  • Perform query performance tuning to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct indexing and optimization strategies to enhance database performance.

Data Analysis & Insights:

  • Analyze business data to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities.
  • Develop ad-hoc queries and reports to support business needs.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in reporting solutions.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with business users, developers, and IT teams to support data initiatives.
  • Document processes, database structures, and report specifications for future reference.
  • Provide training and support to end users on BI tools and reporting solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members, fostering their professional growth and development through knowledge-sharing and collaborative problem-solving.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, SQL Server, SSRS, and Power BI.
  • Strong expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with SSRS report writing and Power BI development.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to Travel (up to 50%)

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluency in Spanish.

Pay Range:        

$130,000-$145,000
 

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
