Senior Business Development Manager

Job Summary
Specter Aerospace is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across DoD programs, with a focus on Tactical Aircraft (TacAir) and weapons systems. This role is built for someone who understands how requirements are developed, funded, and captured—and can turn that insight into real pipeline and wins.
About Specter Aerospace
Specter Aerospace is building the next generation of hypersonic vehicles for U.S. Forces and Allies. With offices in Boston and Peabody, MA, Specter leverages its advanced propulsion technologies, manufacturing, and testing capabilities to rapidly develop supersonic and hypersonic systems. This open application will be reviewed for roles based in any/all of our offices. Funded by a mix of government R&D organizations and private funding, Specter is expanding its team in preparation for flight testing and full-scale production.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities across USAF, Navy, and Joint programs
Build relationships within PEOs, Program Offices, and operational stakeholders
Shape opportunities early (requirements,
acquisition, award)
Develop and execute capture strategies on priority pursuits
Partner with internal leadership, technical teams, and proposal teams
Influence acquisition strategy, teaming, and positioning
Own and grow a qualified BD pipeline
Required Skills
Prior Military Service . Ideally with requirements experience in weapons systems or
TacAir platforms
Congressional Staff Experience
Background in defense policy, appropriations, or oversight
BD / Capture Experience at a Large Defense Prime contractors
Experience supporting:
TacAir platforms (F-35, F-15, etc.)
Weapons integration, sustainment, or modernization efforts
Existing relationships within:
Eglin AFB / Destin market
Huntsville defense ecosystem
DC acquisition community
Experience working with or alongside major defense primes
