Egon Zehnder, Knowledge Centre India (KCI)
Established in January 2005, KCI in Gurgaon, works in close collaboration with the Global offices of Egon Zehnder. There are 5 teams that make up KCI: Experts, Research Operations, Visual Solutions, Projects/CV Capture and Global Technology Services. The Experts Team is a group of experts aligned to specific Industry or Functional Practice that works on with global teams in solving client mandates. The Experts provide insights from internal/ external databases, expert perspectives on industry trend and through their experiences. Most of the team members come with an industry specialization (working in consulting or industry or both) and deliver insights for solving critical client problems. Research at Egon Zehnder
The research community at Egon Zehnder is a highly valued and integral part of the business and is unique in the search industry for a number of reasons:
- The role is quite broad, covering executive search, business development and knowledge management.
- Researchers work on a project from the beginning to the end, working very closely with consultants. Researchers see the whole context and are expected to contribute to discussions on search strategy, the suitability of candidates and industry trends.
- Aligned by industry or functional practice group, researchers can leverage their industry expertise and grow as knowledge experts and knowledge managers.
- We offer international training programmes and the ability to collaborate with colleagues globally.
The Position
Research Associate, CFO
The Research Associate aligned to our CFO function will leverage his/her expertise and knowledge to work closely with our CFO teams in a local, regional, and global capacity, and also build an external network of industry or functional sources and experts that they can tap into to drive client solutions.
The researcher autonomously coordinates the search process and client ready documentation. He/she manages projects (assignments, pitch preparation, etc.) in partnership with the consultant, creating an effective project plan that ensures the team delivers on client expectations and timelines. Further, our new research colleague provides candidate identification for assignments, validates, calibrates and prioritizes candidates on assignments and will leverage his/her deep domain knowledge and external network to drive C-level/senior candidate recommendations.
This is an individual contributor role, which requires extensive collaboration and engagement with colleagues in the London office. This role will be visible to clients and will be expected to help develop key account strategies.
Required knowledge/experience:
- At least 8-12 years relevant professional experience in an international setting / global company in Industry, Consulting or Research, ideally within a geographically dispersed team
- Experience of working on international engagements in a professional services environment (must have) with an understanding of UK market (preferred)
- Prior experience in and/or Industry experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of the CFO function or Financial Services preferred.
- Familiarity with leading research tools such as Factiva, Capital IQ, Boardex and IBISWorld
- Clear and confident communication skills both in person and on the phone are essential
- A self-starter with learning agility, engaging remotely, thought partnering, eye for detail and initiative to lead assignments with minimal guidance is essential
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and expertise with MS-Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)

He/she is experienced in successfully driving and leading projects with various stakeholders, including clients at the most senior level.
