About TruckSmarter

Logistics is one of the single largest industries in the world. Globally, logistics is an $8–$12 trillion dollar industry, and in the US alone, ~$2 trillion, representing ~10% of GDP. A single percent of improvement drives profound change to every corner of the world—from the cost of our goods, to the livelihoods of local communities, to even the impact on our environment.

At TruckSmarter, we're reshaping the industry by focusing first on truck drivers. Trucks move 71% of freight in America (~$800bn annually), and the trucking industry represents nearly 6% of the full-time jobs in the country. If you look around you, every item has sat on a truck at one point on its journey to you. However, despite the industry being one of the greatest levers of innovation throughout history, it is still deeply fragmented and structurally misaligned. Our mission is to fix that—and we need your help.

The Role

TruckSmarter is hiring a Senior Brand Designer to help re-build and scale our brand as we roll out a new wave of AI-powered products.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You’ll work directly with our leadership team to shape how TruckSmarter looks, feels, and shows up—across product, marketing, and everything in between. Your work will influence real decisions and ship fast.

We’re a small, cross-functional crew of designers, product managers, engineers, and operators. We move quickly, collaborate tightly, and care deeply about craft—but we care just as much about getting things out the door. If you like scrappy teams, big responsibility, and building something that actually makes customers’ lives better, you’ll feel right at home here.

What Excites You
  • Lead an effort to re-brand TruckSmarter and then execute it across all touchpoints.

  • Work alongside our design manager and CEO to deliver sharp, thoughtful work across all our marketing channels.

  • Balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution when needed.

  • Lead concept development for major brand initiatives and launches.

  • Set a high bar for craft, clarity, and storytelling.

What Excites Us
  • 7+ years of digital creative experience.

  • Experience leading a brand re-design or refresh.

  • A portfolio that shows strong brand thinking across multiple disciplines—visual identity, storytelling, digital advertising, events, and web.

  • Experience delivering both brand-building work and performance-driven creative.

  • A startup mindset—you’re comfortable with ambiguity, excited to build from scratch, and willing to roll up your sleeves.

  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice to haves:

  • Exposure to product marketing for a SaaS product.

  • Familiarity with Framer or other similar web development tools.

  • Experience creating content with lifecycle marketing platforms like customer.io.

  • Motion chops using After Effects, LottieFiles, or similar tools.

  • Experience working on brands in freight or logistics.

We Offer
  • Health, Dental & Vision Plans

  • Competitive Pay

  • 401k

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Lunch + dinner daily

  • Commuter benefits

Working model: TruckSmarter offers an in-office collaborative culture. This role is based out of our downtown San Francisco office 5 days/week.

We would love to have you be a part of something special, and are excited to review your application!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
