As a cutting-edge technology company, we combine advanced AI models with user-first principles to deliver tools that enhance discovery, creativity, and productivity. At you.com, we are on a mission to create the most helpful search engine in the world—one that prioritizes transparency, privacy, and user control.

We’re building a team of innovators, problem-solvers, and visionaries who are passionate about shaping the future of AI and technology. At you.com, you’ll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry, and grow your career in an environment that values creativity, diversity, and curiosity. If you’re ready to make a difference and help us revolutionize the way people search and work, we’d love to have you join us!

About the role:

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Brand Designer who specializes in web design and CMS development to join the Design Team and take ownership of every surface outside the core product — including our website, landing pages, and the brand assets behind them. You’ll also contribute to marketing collateral and other visual brand work. This is a high-impact role with plenty of autonomy and room to shape how the world sees You.com. You’ll work closely with the Design, Marketing, and Product teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop responsive web experiences using Webflow and other CMS platforms — upholding brand consistency and UX standards
  • Create and manage reusable components and templates to streamline content updates and site maintenance
  • Design user flows and information architecture with a focus on the complete journey — from entry points to actions and next steps
  • Build rapid prototypes to explore and communicate concepts, iterating quickly based on feedback
  • Collaborate closely with designers, content teams, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive experiences
  • Document web design standards and best practices to ensure consistency across digital properties
  • Create wireframes and evolve them into high-fidelity designs — reusing existing components and knowing when to introduce new ones
  • Partner with Marketing and Design to bring the brand vision to life across all surfaces
  • Develop and evolve our brand across channels, campaigns, and touchpoints
  • Deliver best-in-class design solutions across brand, marketing, and product
  • Contribute to improving processes that increase speed and efficiency

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in web design, with a strong portfolio of responsive, CMS-driven websites
  • Experience working within content management systems, with a clear understanding of their constraints and possibilities
  • Strong visual design skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Deep knowledge of UX and UI patterns, and best practices for intuitive user experiences
  • Ability to implement established UI patterns and design systems consistently across websites
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to extend platform functionality when needed
  • Knowledge of low-code tools like Webflow and Framer — you build what you design
  • Ability to interpret user research and apply it to design decisions
  • Experience with A/B testing and using data to optimize design solutions

Ideal candidates have/are:

  • A systematic mindset, with a strong grasp of component-based design systems
  • The ability to independently drive projects while seeking feedback and collaborating cross-functionally
  • A strong commitment to accessibility standards and universal design principles
  • A solid understanding of responsive design principles
  • A high bar for design quality — without falling into perfectionism
  • Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
  • Confidence in articulating and defending design decisions to leadership
  • Excellent communicators, collaborators, and storytellers

Our salary bands are structured based on a combination of geographic tiers and internal leveling. Compensation is determined by multiple factors assessed during the interview process, with the final offer reflecting these considerations.

Salary Band
$145,000$175,000 USD
Company Perks:
  • Hubs in San Francisco and New York City offering regular in-person gatherings and co-working sessions

  • Flexible PTO with 11 U.S. holidays observed and a week shutdown in December to rest and recharge*

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
