Vast is seeking a Brand Designer / Senior Brand Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Design.  As a Senior/Brand Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping Vast Space’s brand identity and visual presence. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop engaging visual content that helps us stand out in our industry and more broadly the universe. Your creativity and strategic thinking will help elevate our brand in a rapidly evolving business and market. 

 This will be a full-time, exempt position located onsite at our Long Beach location. You must submit a portfolio to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Visual Design: Create high-quality visual assets, including marketing materials, social media graphics, and presentations that embody the essence of Vast Space. 
  • Campaign Execution: Design and produce engaging marketing materials for various platforms (digital, print, events) to support product launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product teams, marketing, and engineers to develop cohesive presentations, campaigns that effectively communicate our brand story and value proposition.
  • User-Centric Design: Integrate user feedback and insights into your design process, ensuring that all materials are not only visually appealing but also resonate with our audience.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and constructive feedback to junior designers and interns, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creative growth.
  • You will be working with the team across creative brainstorming, conceptual design exploration, design system development, and asset creation, therefore a keen eye for detail is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 3-5 (Designer)7-10 (Senior) years of experience in brand design or a related role, preferably within tech or startups. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse design work, including brand identity, marketing materials, and digital assets. Motion experience is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google slides. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively. 
  • A passion for innovation and a deep interest in the aerospace industry.

  • Strong critical thinking and storytelling skills
  • Motion Graphics expertise for infographics, social and video graphics
  • UX/UI and Web skills
  • Self-motivated and creative solutions-focused mentality
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with the ingenuity to define and implement efficient processes for effective work execution in a matrixed cross-functional environment
  • Passion for the space industry and changing “business-as-usual” paradigms.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Salary Range: California
$94,200$150,000 USD

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
