Senior AWS Cloud & Agentic AI Architect

Perficient is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud & Agentic AI Platform Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale AI and agentic platforms within a highly regulated healthcare environment. This role will be instrumental in establishing foundational AWS architecture patterns, enabling secure and scalable AI adoption, and partnering closely with engineering teams to design and build production-ready agentic solutions.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience delivering AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) solutions in production environments. This is a highly technical, consultative role that requires hands-on architecture, engineering leadership, and the ability to coach teams while contributing directly to implementation efforts.

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions on AWS using services such as Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Establish scalable cloud and AI platform foundations, including AWS Control Tower governance, multi-account strategies, security guardrails, networking, resilience, and reusable AI architecture patterns.
• Partner with business and technology teams to evaluate AI use cases, define solution architectures, and determine the appropriate application of agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge bases, and intelligent automation.
• Design and implement secure MCP server architectures, hybrid cloud integrations, and connectivity patterns that enable AI agents to securely access enterprise data and services across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Develop solutions for document intelligence, knowledge management, and enterprise data retrieval, leveraging services such as Amazon Textract, Bedrock Knowledge Bases, and related AWS AI capabilities.
• Ensure AI platforms and applications meet security, governance, and compliance requirements through identity federation, role-based access controls, data protection, auditing, observability, and operational safeguards.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution validation, engineering mentorship, and guidance on AI platform best practices and emerging technologies.
• Create reusable reference architectures, standards, implementation patterns, and operational runbooks to enable long-term adoption and scalability across the organization.

• Proven experience designing and delivering production-scale Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions on AWS, including Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, MCP (Model Context Protocol) architectures, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, including Control Tower, multi-account strategies, organizational governance, IAM, networking, Direct Connect, Secrets Manager, Infrastructure as Code, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Hands-on experience building secure, scalable AI solutions that integrate cloud and on-premises systems, including MCP servers, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, knowledge bases, and document intelligence solutions.
• Strong understanding of security, identity, and compliance requirements for regulated environments, including Entra ID, AWS Identity Center, Active Directory federation, role-based access controls, PHI/PII protection, auditing, and AI guardrails.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design discussions, evaluate architectural tradeoffs, mentor engineering teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within healthcare, health insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic search, and advanced retrieval architectures.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Advanced Networking, Machine Learning Engineer, or related AWS AI certifications.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $133,600 to $188,600.
