The XFn Senior Associate will report directly to senior leaders and play an active role in cross-functional engagements that span the entire deal and transformation lifecycle. You will support key initiatives, manage discrete workstreams, and work closely with clients and senior team members in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leaders and clients to solve financial and operational challenges across due diligence, value creation and preservation, transformation, bankruptcy readiness, and IB processes (M&A, restructuring, capital raising)
- Analyze financial statements and operational metrics, including P&L, balance sheets, cash flows, debt schedules, and related KPIs
- Build advanced financial models such as three-statement forecasts, TWCFs, DCFs, LBOs, accretion/dilution, and value creation frameworks with precision and strategic alignment
- Contribute to specialized workstreams such as DIP sizing, first day motions, vendor analysis, SOALs/SOFAs, MORs, KPI development, incentive plan design, liquidation and headcount analytics, general ledger review, footprint optimization, S&OP, org design, go-to-market strategy, and business process transformation
- Create impactful presentations and reporting packages — teasers, CIMs, KPI dashboards, financial performance updates — for boards, executives, investors, and creditors
- Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
- Support internal trainings and best practice sharing
- Support business development and client relationship efforts
- Support talent acquisition and firm-building initiatives

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
- Located or willing to relocate to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles or New York
- Invested in a team-based culture, motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed
- A minimum of four years of experience in investment banking or private equity
- Formal financial modeling training from a top-tier institution or firm
- Demonstrated ability to build three-statement models, thirteen-week cash flows, dynamic KPI dashboards, and complex ad hoc analyses — or the aptitude to develop mastery quickly
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
