Role Overview
In a highly competitive and energetic sales environment, you will work directly with New York Life (NYL) agents to share sales ideas, provide product information, identify book of business sales opportunities and assist on client meetings. While partnering with the External Life Product Consultant, the Variable Internal Life Product Consultant is responsible for increasing life sales within the territory. The Variable Internal Life Product Consultant is responsible for providing insight and product knowledge via the agency sales desk channel.** This position primarily covers the following General Offices (GO's):Central California, East Bay, Eastern Washington, Greater Oregon, Greater San Francisco, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, Reno, Seattle, Tacoma. Candidate location in the Bay Area or Pacific Northwest preferred**

Salary Range: 80,000 - 100,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: Yes
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.

What You'll Do
- Make proactive sales calls to NYL agents in an effort to increase life sales by uncovering opportunities and developing relationships
- Work closely with the Variable Life Product Consultants to develop and execute a business plan to maximize territorial sales
- Analyze agent and office sales performance and create a strategic plan to generate growth
- Become an expert in New York Life Insurance products
- Field inbound calls from agents in regard to life products, case design and identify selling opportunities
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of prior insurance or investment sales experience
- Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have strong relationship building and sales skills
- Must be a detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity
- Must have Series 6 and 63 licenses
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to pay attention to detail and multitask
- Frequent travel is required; typically, one/two weeks per month
