The HRBP will advise on talent strategies, leverage data analytics, promote AI in HR, and deliver HR programs aligned with business goals.
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic advisor supporting the Foundational Business at New York Life. The HRBP will work closely with senior leaders, managers, and employees to proactively deliver a full spectrum of HR services that align with business priorities. This individual will contribute to the delivery of key talent initiatives, people analytics, and core HR programs that drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid HR foundation, strong data fluency, a forward-thinking mindset in applying AI to HR processes and the confidence and ability to independently advise and influence senior leadership.
The HRBP will play a critical role in shaping a high-performing, inclusive, and adaptive organizational culture. Key responsibilities include defining talent strategies, leveraging workforce data and analytics, championing innovative HR solutions, and implementing core HR programs in close partnership with centers of excellence.
What You'll Do:
Strategic HR Partnership
• Act as a proactive HR thought partner to senior leaders, ensuring alignment between workforce strategies and business objectives.
• Provide guidance and perspective in business planning and organizational design decisions.
• Build influential relationships at all levels, serving as a credible voice in leadership discussions, and constructively challenging decisions when necessary.
Data & Insights
• Leverage workforce data and metrics to drive decision-making, diagnose organizational issues, and shape talent strategies.
• Partner with HR Reporting and Analytics teams to define data needs and ensure reporting is insightful and actionable.
AI & Innovation in HR
• Explore and promote innovative uses of AI and emerging technologies to improve the administration of HR practices, such as talent identification, learning & development, and employee engagement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot and scale AI-driven HR solutions where appropriate.
Core HR Program Delivery
• Partner with senior leaders and HR centers of excellence to design, deliver, and adapt core HR programs that support business strategy, including talent development, workforce planning, performance management, and compensation.
• Guide leaders through employee matters with sound judgment-ensuring policies are applied fairly, consistently, and in compliance with legal and internal standards.
• Lead and facilitate talent reviews, succession planning, and individual development planning to build a strong leadership pipeline and support ongoing capability growth.
• Collaborate on strategic hiring initiatives, aligning recruitment efforts with workforce plans and long-term organizational needs.
• Support leaders through the annual compensation planning cycle, offering guidance grounded in internal equity and external market competitiveness.
What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree or HR certifications (SHRM, PHR) desirable.
• Minimum of 5 -7 years of progressive HR experience, including experience as a Business Partner supporting senior-level stakeholders.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a data-driven HR environment, leveraging analytics and insights to guide decisions.
• Demonstrated curiosity and aptitude for emerging HR technologies, particularly the application of AI.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a record of building credibility and influencing senior executives.
• Able to manage complexity, resolve conflicts, and lead through change.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; adept at tailoring messages for various audiences.
• Broad HR expertise including talent development, performance management, employee relations, and compensation.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $100,000-$128,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
