The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead employer-side litigation matters from the opening of a case through final resolution, owning both strategy and execution. The role also involves advising employer clients on compliance and routine workplace questions while working with partners and fellow associates in a collegial, mentorship-oriented team.
What you'll do
- Run employment disputes end to end, covering individual claims and wage-related or class-wide defense.
- Prepare court filings, written arguments and discovery materials, and shape the overall case approach.
- Conduct witness examinations and represent clients in court, settlement sessions and arbitration.
- Act for employers in proceedings before government agencies.
- Investigate facts, evaluate claims and turn the analysis into practical recommendations for clients.
- Advise employers of different sizes on compliance and everyday workplace issues.
- Work closely with partners and other associates in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
- Optionally take part in business development through writing, webinars and client presentations.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Three to eight years of litigation experience defending employers in California workplace disputes.
- Experience on the defense side of individual lawsuits, class actions, or both.
- Proven ability to handle or substantially manage cases independently rather than only as a junior team member.
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a California law license in good standing.
- Solid command of California employment and wage law.
- Sound judgment, initiative and a collaborative style.
- A strong service mindset with prompt, proactive client communication.
- A stable employment history.
- Authorization to work in the US.

- Base salary: USD 170,000 to 250,000 per year
