Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Senior Application Sales Engineer – Power Transformers. This is a remote role that can be worked anywhere in the US.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with regional sales managers, MELCO, manufacturers’ representatives, EPCs, and utility customers to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and EPC organizations nationwide.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations that showcase MEPPI’s capabilities and value proposition.
  • Prepare and submit technical and commercial budgetary and firm proposals in response to customer inquiries and RFQs.
  • Support proposal strategy, pricing development, contract negotiations, and customer discussions.
  • Research market pricing and competitive trends to develop effective commercial strategies.
  • Define and develop technical solutions that align customer requirements with MEPPI and MELCO product offerings.
  • Create innovative approaches to complex substation and transformer applications by leveraging engineering expertise and market knowledge.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers to develop customized solutions
  • Interface with factories, MELCO overseas marketing teams, MEPPI engineering staff, and third-party suppliers to align products and services with market needs.
  • Support other sales engineers through technical guidance and proposal development activities.
  • Organize and maintain technical sales information, preliminary designs, and bid documentation to support future opportunities.
  • Develop customer presentations, sales tools, and technical marketing materials.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance MEPPI’s competitive position through product improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Help expand market share by positioning MEPPI products as preferred solutions for customer projects.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 6-9 years of technical sales experience supporting electrical equipment, power transformers, substation equipment, or related utility products.
  • Proven success developing customer relationships and supporting complex technical sales pursuits.
  • Knowledge of power transformers, substation equipment, and electric utility infrastructure.
  • Understanding of substation layouts, including electrical, structural, and civil engineering considerations.
  • Strong proposal development and technical sales capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers, EPCs, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Experience negotiating commercial terms and customer agreements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical sales tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
