Senior Analytics Engineer - Supply Chain
The Lob Data Team develops data pipelines and builds data models that enable the entire company to discover actionable insights and make rapid data-driven decisions. As the dedicated Analytics Engineer for the Supply Chain team, you will work on initiatives to optimize delivery speed, network saturation, and manufacturing costs.
You will work with your colleagues in Product and Engineering, as well as stakeholders on the Supply Chain team to identify data needs and develop solutions that help answer operational questions. As the Senior Analytics Engineer for Logistics, you’ll…
- Partner with stakeholders in Supply Chain to identify problems, create insights, and develop durable data solutions.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert in postal logistics and supply chain.
- Build robust data pipelines to curate operational data from internal systems, print partners, logistics carriers, and third-party APIs.
- Develop AI-based dashboards and alerting systems that track and monitor performance across the supply chain.
- Exemplify analytics engineering best practices, such as modularity, testing, cataloging, and version control.
- Champion data governance, security, privacy, and retention policies to protect end users, customers, and Lob.
- Foster a curiosity mindset and guide other teams as they identify ways to improve the quality of the metrics they produce and analyze.
- Support and mentor fellow engineers and data team members through coffee chats, code review, and pair programming.
What will you bring to this role…
- 5+ years of Analytics Engineering experience: ETL/ELT, OLAP modeling, data visualization, and data governance.
- 5+ years of SQL experience: at least one big data warehouse system such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- 3+ years of experience operating live production systems using dbt and Python.
- 3+ years of BI Software experience: at least one analytics platform such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
- 2+ years of Supply Chain domain experience, including postal data, carrier tracking, or direct mail logistics.
- Empathy and effective communication skills: You can explain complex analytical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpretive skills: You can deconstruct complex source data to compose curated models that can be explored by stakeholders.
- Product mindset: You build data systems that will be used to generate insights for years to come, not just one-off analyses.

- A four-year degree or equivalent real world experience in an analytical discipline.
- Familiarity with supply chain data types such as inventory, routing, carrier scan events, and SLAs
- Practical project management skills and a track record of working together with cross-functional teams to bring projects from inception to completion.
- Software Engineering skills such as version control, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and testing frameworks.
- Previous experience developing in orchestration engines such as Airflow, Dagster, and Prefect.
- Previous experience working with NoSQL systems such as DynamoDB and Elasticsearch.
- Previous experience analyzing near-real-time data streams.
Compensation information
Base: $152,500 - $171,250 + RSU
