Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, FP&A – Commercial Network Performance (COGS) supports financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for Non-Medicare commercial pharmacy network costs (COGS) within CVS Health’s Pharmacy Services business, covering Large Client, CarelonRx, Aetna, FEHBP, and Maintenance Choice segments. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A Non-Medicare Network Margin COGS, this role contributes to COGS budget and forecast development, monitors network margin performance, and provides analytical support to assess the financial impact of network design, drug mix, and MAC rate changes on commercial COGS.

Responsibilities 

  • Supports the development of annual operating plan, multi-year plan, and quarterly COGS forecasts for Non-Medicare commercial segments, including drug-level and pharmacy-level detail. 
  • Performs monthly COGS variance analysis, identifying and communicating drivers including MAC rates, drug mix, pharmacy utilization, and network design changes. 
  • Builds and maintains financial models to assess COGS impact of MAC rate movements, formulary updates, network changes, and client-level utilization behavior. 
  • Prepares weekly network performance updates and management reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and clarity for leadership review. 
  • Supports ad-hoc analytical requests, special projects, and scenario modeling as directed by the Manager and Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Financial planning and cost analysis experience, ideally in a PBM, managed care, or health benefits environment.
  • Understanding of pharmacy COGS drivers including MAC pricing, drug mix, and pharmacy network utilization.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with large data sets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tableau or similar visualization tool experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to decompose multi-driver variances and communicate findings clearly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to prepare management-ready reporting.
  • Collaborative work style; ability to partner with Network Pricing and Operations teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
