The Senior Analyst, Finance prepares economic, financial, or statistical research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactics. The role has excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques, and the capability to plan own work and meet deadlines. The Senior Analyst, Finance provides financial analysis for the organization related to Finance and Accounting as well as oversees all general ledger activity and transactions for RPA and its clients to ensure that they are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and RPA and/or donor/sponsor policies.
Role Accountabilities
Financial Analysis and Reports
Manage the delivery of feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases. Partner with the Controller on all Finance and accounting-related reconciliations and special projects. Conduct complex and critical financial studies, and analyses, and lead research and implementation of the application of applicable new accounting guidelines and principles. Responsible for the review and reconciliation of the overall accuracy of all general ledger activity and investment accounting. Perform monthly financial analysis of income and balance sheet accounts. Develop and prepare financial, operational, and board reports to meet the specific needs of key internal and external stakeholders. Oversee assigned areas and participate in the preparation of annual tax returns and financial reports.
Financial Modeling
Support the budgeting and forecasting process through discussion with internal stakeholders, data aggregation, data/variance analysis, and updates as necessary/assigned. Partner with IT and Business Intelligence to complete a profit and loss analysis for the organization.
Policies and Procedures
Evaluate and assess standard operating procedures within Finance to evaluate the existing control environment and provide recommendations for enhancements and opportunities to align with industry best practices; review roles and responsibilities within the systems from a Finance perspective quarterly.
Research
Conduct research using primary data sources and select the information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Financial System - Controls, Compliances, and External Reporting
Execute system implementations and enhancements for Finance in accordance with financial guidelines; including building out financial reports in NetSuite to gain efficiencies. Responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and functionality of the financial reports and procedures. Participate in the development and maintenance of RPA finance policy and procedure manuals.
Relationship Management
Acts as liaison to outside auditors, tax accountants, and consultants for finance projects/initiatives. Supporting the Controller in managing Tax and regulatory reporting requirements applicable for RPA (and it is sponsored projects or entities), in applicable locales. Support advisors and staff in enhancing understanding and utilization of financial reports.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Significant experience in a similar role with a significant degree of responsibility preferred (5-6 years).
Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and non-profit-specific accounting procedures.
Solid experience in accounting-based software packages and the Microsoft Office suite of products (particularly Outlook and Excel).
Travel Requirements
Preferred: Within a commutable distance to New York, New York, as occasional in-person collaboration may be beneficial. However, we are open to fully remote candidates based in the United States, depending on qualifications and fit.
Some travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including health coverage, retirement benefits, paid sick leave, vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement and access to professional development resources.
The salary range is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
Pay Range: $106,000 - $112,000 salary per year.
