Our Accounting Special Projects team is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven professional who is looking for the chance to work on a wide variety of projects in a high-visibility role to all leadership through The Wonderful Company portfolio. This position provides an opportunity for upward finance and accounting mobility within The Wonderful Company organization. You must enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, complex environment, and be excited for many growth opportunities. Candidates should exhibit a strong sense of curiosity and a genuine eagerness to learn, coupled with a proactive, self-starter mentality.

This role will be based out of West Los Angeles corporate office and work a hybrid schedule in office Monday through Wednesday with opportunity to work from home Thursday and Friday.

Job Description

  • Perform special projects supporting 10 different Business Units utilizing accounting and finance knowledge and best practices, such as:
    • Standardization of accounting and FP&A practices (i.e. policies, Chart of Accounts, consolidation, reporting deliverables etc)
    • Partnering with BUs for financial system implementations and process changes
    • Act as Business Unit support staff
    • Perform business acquisition support
  • Demonstrate thoughtful understanding of stakeholder objectives when planning project deliverables and milestones through documentation and presentation of key insights
  • Exercise a curious mind and strong desire to deeply understand processes in order to develop thoughtful solutions focused on objectives and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate ability to develop project plans that outline clear objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure the project scope is defined accurately
  • Effectively convey project updates and challenges with direct managers, indirect managers and stakeholders. Draft clear and concise recommendations and assist stakeholders in the implementation of those recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the company
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality or deadlines.
  • Strong ability to independently identify gaps in workload and actively seek new projects to maximize productivity

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance practices and processes, such as accounting close cycles, budget cycles, financial statement review, adequacy of financial documentation and internal controls
  • Ability to independently meet deadlines in a timely manner and manage multiple projects/deliverables
  • Adept with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and familiarity with enterprise accounting or planning systems
  • Power BI, SmartSheet and/or Gen AI familiarity (preferred)
  • Effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Goal-oriented, motivated, and easily adaptable to a dynamic environment. Creates and maintains positive relationships within the team and extended organization
  • Travel up to 25% to both domestic and international locations (most travel within CA). Corporate planes are available for domestic travel
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • CPA or currently pursuing certification (preferred)
  • COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000, and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
