With better communication, more insights, and less “noise”, we are modernizing what it means for businesses and their employees to truly feel safe.

The Role

We're seeking an AI Product Manager to own and scale HiveWatch's AI Operator product suite. This is a strategically critical role that sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI/ML technology and real-world security operations. You'll define the vision and roadmap for how artificial intelligence transforms security operations, ensuring our AI solutions deliver measurable value while integrating seamlessly into complex enterprise environments.

Success in this role requires both exceptional product intuition and deep technical capabilities. You'll need to understand customer workflows at a granular level, identify high-impact AI opportunities, and drive execution from concept through launch. You'll work closely with security operators, enterprise customers, and technical stakeholders to build AI products that genuinely augment human decision-making and operational efficiency. This isn't about AI for AI's sake—it's about solving real problems in security operations with intelligence and precision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Own the product vision, roadmap and backlog for HiveWatch's AI Operator and emerging AI product portfolio. Drive end-to-end product development using Agile methodologies, from initial concept through launch and iteration.
  • Deeply understand security operations workflows and pain points, and shepherd HiveWatch’s AI products to not only provide force multiplication, but optimize the user experience.
  • Lead your development team to balance innovation with operational excellence. Ensure our AI products are reliable, explainable, and trustworthy in mission-critical security environments.
  • Engage directly with customers and security operators to validate product direction, gather feedback, and drive adoption.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure AI product efficacy and utilization. Use data to continuously optimize our AI products and deliver measurable value to our users.
  • Stay ahead of AI/ML trends and identify emerging technologies that could differentiate HiveWatch's offerings.
  • Work from our headquarters in El Segundo, CA
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & TRAITS:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years building and scaling AI/ML or computer vision-powered products
  • Proven track record of launching successful AI products in B2B or enterprise environments, with measurable customer and business impact
  • Strong technical depth; You have experience with
    • computer vision, generative AI models and natural language processing, anomaly detection
    • model architectures, training pipelines, dataset management and performance trade-offs
    • model deployment and inference optimization, particularly understanding how to balance compute resources, latency, and cost for production workloads
  • Experience translating ambiguous customer problems into clear product requirements and technical specifications
  • Customer-centric mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills; You are comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approach
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution; You can sweat the details while keeping the big picture in focus
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments
  • Real passion for building products that solve meaningful problems
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Startup experience, particularly in early-stage or growth-stage companies
  • Background in computer vision, video analytics, or real-time AI systems
  • Prior experience as a software engineer, data scientist, or in a highly technical role
  • Experience in the security, surveillance, or physical security technology industry
  • Knowledge of edge AI, distributed systems, or IoT architectures
  • Experience with real-time data processing, event-driven systems, or streaming analytics
  • Understanding of trust, safety, and responsible AI considerations in production systems
  • Training in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related quantitative field

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
