Overview

We are hiring a Senior Agile HR Business Partner to support our C+AI organization. At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Within Cloud + AI (C+AI), our Human Resources (HR) organization plays a pivotal role in enabling this mission by shaping the future of how we lead, grow, and transform. 

 
In line with this, we are seeking a Human Resources Business Parter (HRBP) to join our new pooled Agile HRBP team—the strategic engine of agility within the C+AI HR organization. This role will have the opportunity to work on strategic initiatives for one of Microsoft’s most transformative business groups, helping evolve how we deliver HR partnership at scale and with speed, consistency, and innovation. 

Strength in building trusted relationships with leaders and the ability to leverage those relationships to diagnose and coach leaders on team, organization, and their own effectiveness is essential for this role.  Experience in program and project management to ensure delivery of client-ready solutions - including initiatives geared at leadership effectiveness and manager capability and excellence is also critical for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Consulting: Combine insights, strong stakeholder relationships, clear storytelling, AI fluency, and change management to build alignment, influence decisions, and deliver sustainable organizational outcomes that enable agility, growth, and innovation.

    • Organizational Diagnostics: Partner and consult with peer HR disciplines (e.g., Talent Management, Organization Development, HRBI) on leveraging the systems model, talent management processes/programs and interpreting results & data to build recommendations 
    • Talent & Capability Development: Support initiatives that build future-ready capabilities, including succession planning, talent deployment, and leadership development. 

    • Data-Driven Insights: Use data, diagnostics, and cross‑business insight to inform strategy, measure impact, and deliver equitable, scalable (where applicable) HR solutions that continuously improve how we work 

    • AI-Enabled HR: Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and deliver repeatable solutions 

    • Project Management: Partner with peers in the Agile HRBP team, business aligned HRBPs, CoEs, and business leaders to identify key strategic priorities and create long term sustainable solutions. Lead projects from inception to successful implementation 

    • Technical Solutions: Leverage an understanding of technical solutions and productivity tools to develop and enhance innovative solutions that drive efficiency in ways of working.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 4+ years experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)

    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 7+ years experience in experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, performance management)

    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 8+ years experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field AND 12+ years experience in human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, performance management)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Human Resources Professional Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM, CIPD).
  • 4+ years experience with partnering with wide network of clients and across human resources to deliver effective business solutions.
  • Experience with large scale change management 


HR Business Partnership IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
