Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join its Corporate Accounting team. What You'll Do:
- Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Review, maintain, and administer lease agreements in accordance with ASC 842.
- Assist with lease accounting activities, including lease modifications, renewals, and related accounting entries.
- Review landlord invoices, CAM reconciliations, and resolve landlord/tenant billing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly coded and reconciled.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Participate in financial reporting, audit support, and SOX compliance activities.
- Analyze accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and special analyses as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) preferred.
- Experience reviewing lease agreements, lease administration, or property accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience with CAM reconciliations, landlord invoices, or tenant billing is a plus.
- Strong general ledger, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required.
Preferred Experience:
- Lease accounting software experience.
- Property accounting or multi-location business experience.
- Experience supporting acquisitions or rapidly growing organizations.
- ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus).
