What You’ll Do

The Senior Accountant will assist the Senior Manager, Accounting in executing the day-to-day accounting activities as well as support the development of a long-term comprehensive accounting solution for the organization. A focus on implementing efficient processes and internal controls while leveraging automation will be key. Immediate priorities will include supporting the accounts payable process, performing month-end close responsibilities, and researching technical accounting guidance to support the accounting treatment utilized. Technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are essential skills for the role.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Close the books on a monthly basis, including posting accrual and intercompany journal entries and preparing detailed account reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable and respond to vendor/customer inquiries
  • Prepare payment runs on a weekly basis to pay vendor invoices
  • Support the year end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Prepare variance analyses on a monthly basis for management review
  • Research ad hoc technical accounting matters and assist in drafting the organization’s accounting position
  • Liaise with other departments to facilitate the accounts payable, account receivable, and month-end close process
  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and analysis to support management as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 years of accounting or audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • BS in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience with the month-end close cycle
  • Experience with ERP systems and related tools for reporting and analysis
  • Driven to go above and beyond to find ways to automate, streamline and improve processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, ask questions, detect problems, and provide solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time across competing activities/resources and manage projects/processes under tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effective both individually and as a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA license
  • 2+ years Big 4 public accounting plus private or public company experience
  • Experience performing technical accounting research and drafting technical memos
  • Experience implementing a new ERP system (NetSuite)

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $100K-$120K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual discretionary bonus and equity.
