THE ROLE:

This is a heavy, hands-on sales role. You will live inside your assigned holding-company agencies, working directly with client buying and planning teams, and building relationships across investment, strategy, and programmatic teams, to personally lead deals end-to-end. You'll work side-by-side with Sales Enablement, Ad Operations, and our Insights team to translate our products into solutions your clients need.

What You'll Do

Own your pipeline and quota

  • Own and exceed an individual quota across your assigned holding-company agency and brand-client portfolio.
  • Personally source, lead, and close deals; running discovery, ideation, pitch, negotiation, and contracting.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline at 3x+ coverage; keep CRM (Salesforce) accurate and current at all times.
  • Translate our Moments framework; Mindsets, Pre-Game anticipation, Real-Time In-Game, Post-Game sentiment into clear, repeatable narratives that planners and media buyers can confidently pitch to their brand clients.

Build and own holding-company agency relationships

  • Build and own day-to-day relationships across your assigned holding-company agencies; Investment Directors, Planning Directors, Programmatic Leads, Strategy Leads, Connections Planners, and brand-team contacts.
  • Map and multi-thread each assigned agency: investment, planning, programmatic, strategy, and brand-aligned teams.
  • Partner with the VP, Sales for your assigned holding company on holdco-level joint business plans; execute the agency-level workstreams that bring those plans to life.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for your accounts and the liaison to Genius Ad Ops, Insights, and Client Services for flawless campaign execution.

Execute and grow the book

  • Drive expansion of our audience and moments solutions across every buying method your holding company uses; programmatic, PMP, and direct/guaranteed, working hands-on with the agency's buying and planning teams.
  • Partner with Account Management to ensure retention and renewal for every client in your book; build the case for year-over-year growth.
  • Operate with discipline: weekly pipeline reviews, accurate forecasts (within ±10%), tight follow-up, and clean CRM hygiene.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 7+ years selling advertising, ad-tech, or media to agencies, with direct experience inside a major holding-company ecosystem (Omnicom, WPP, Publicis, IPG, Dentsu, or Independent Agencies).
  • Track record of personally closing six- and seven-figure annual agency deals and consistently hitting individual quota.
  • Strong, current relationships at holding-company agencies; Investment Directors, Planning Directors, Programmatic Leads, and brand-team contacts.
  • Deep fluency in the modern media stack: CTV, programmatic, social, addressable, attention/measurement, and the agency P&L.
  • Comfort selling complex, data-driven products; you can make signal-based, moment-based advertising feel simple to a planner who has 11 other meetings that day.
  • Operating discipline: forecast accuracy, CRM hygiene (HubSpot or Salesforce), pipeline management, and a real point of view on agency sales processes.

IT WILL BE A BONUS IF YOU:

  • Experience selling sports media, sports data, or fan-engagement products to major holding companies.
  • Existing relationships at holding-company brand clients (CPG, QSR, auto, financial services, telco).
  • Background in CTV, programmatic, or attention/outcomes-based media sales.
  • Prior experience working under a Holdco lead in a structured holding-company sales model.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
