NFL Media is looking for a highly motivated Viz Operator to set up and play out all graphic elements that are integrated into pre-recorded and live programming. This Viz Operator will work directly with the technical staff to satisfy production requirements for live and pre-recorded programming under the supervision of the show’s director and operations management.


Responsibilities

  • Execute cleanly on-air in a high-stress, rapidly changing environment
  • Quickly troubleshoot graphic errors with Producers
  • Have strong understanding of broadcast language and must also be able to work with various individuals and personalities
  • Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment
  • Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel in order to ensure a quality visual presentation to our audience
  • Independently follow, read and execute all relevant tasks outlined in a live or taped broadcast rundown
  • Provide support to transmission during non-show hours
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant work experience is preferred
  • Two years of graphic playout experience in a live control room environment
  • Knowledge of the Viz Trio system and 1 year experience working with Viz in a live control room

Preferred Qualifications

  • Viz University Certification
  • Solid working knowledge of HD quality control equipment
  • ENPS/iNews knowledge is a plus

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics

  • Ability to identify/trouble shoot audio and video problems with satellite and fiber transmission systems
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have strong typing, spelling and grammatical skills

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • This is an on-call position working less than 29 hours/week
  • Flexibility to work early morning, evening, overnight hours, weekends, holidays & remote productions
