BIG PICTURE:

We are looking for a temporary / seasonal Script Formatter/Reviewer whose primary job is to review a high volume of scripts, ensuring formatting, continuity, and story logic are sound. This role  is a bridge between the writing department and pre-production department and reports to the Senior Producer at Dhar Mann Studios.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:

  • Read multiple episodic, half-hour scripts daily. With your incredible attention to detail, you will be able to notice even the most minor of continuity errors in script (regarding characters in scenes, their wardrobe, props, scene header locations, and story logic) and correct them as you read.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • You are a screenwriter, script supervisor, or script coordinator (2-4 years experience) with extreme attention to detail. You will review our half-hour episodic scripts to ensure proper continuity for wardrobe, props, characters, and story logic, and to flag scenes that are logistically impractical to produce (e.g. a scene set in a location we don't have access to, like a domed planetarium).
  • Must haves:
    • Great pattern recognition — we format our scripts in a specific way, and someone who can quickly understand systems and is able to identify errors and mistakes on the page will be successful in this role.
    • Understands scripted production — you can read a script and have a sense of the complexity or scale of the production!
    • You are a quick but thorough reader with a keen eye and memory for detail.

WHO OVERSEES YOU:

You will report directly to the Senior Producer. This is a contract role till end of November.

WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:

All the action takes place at our studio in Burbank, CA!

WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:

This is an in house role and the hours are somewhat flexible but will be discussed.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US:

  • Competitive Pay: $25/hr, commensurate with experience.
  • Elite Talent: We maintain an exceptionally high hiring bar—you’ll be collaborating with some of the best creative minds in the industry.
  • Fast-Track Impact: As our content scales, you’ll have the autonomy to take on significant responsibility and accelerate your professional growth.
  • Studio Culture: We provide a high-energy, supportive environment with catered lunches, a fully stocked kitchen, and a team-first atmosphere

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
