Roles and Responsibilities:

a) Under the oversight and direction of Public Works’ Section Heads, Area Supervisors, Resident Engineers or Construction Managers, Construction Schedulers will be assigned various scheduling tasks in support of Public Works' construction projects and construction programs.

b) Construction Schedulers may also be assigned to individual projects currently under construction.

c) Develop/Prepares schedules for various Public Works' construction programs.

d) Prepare schedules for various Public Works' construction projects.

e) Works with Project Managers to prepare Contract Time Requests (CTR) prior to advertising projects.

f) Analyze project schedules submitted by contractors prior to the start of construction.

g) Review and analyze baseline schedules and monthly progress schedules submitted by contractors.

h) Develop As-built schedules based upon available records in support of claims analysis.

i) Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Project Management Division III and Public Works' staff.

j) Provide instruction and training to Public Works' staff in the preparation of schedules.


Requirements

Desirable Qualifications:

a) Graduation from an accredited college with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

b) Ability to interpret plans, specifications, special provisions, and other contract documents.

c) Proficiency in the use of personal computers and applications of WordPerfect, Excel, and Access.

d) Proficiency in the implementation and use of Suretrak, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Online and other scheduling software.

e) Ability to prepare project and program schedules using Suretrak, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Online and other scheduling software.

f) Ability to interpret construction schedules.

g) Previous experience preparing and analyzing schedules for the types of projects described under Resident Engineer.
