JOB DESCRIPTION
The SAP Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering complex SAP‑based solutions that support information security, compliance, and enterprise‑wide business requirements. This role involves defining solution strategy, leading technical design, and guiding implementation across large SAP environments.
Key responsibilities include performing architecture analysis, researching and designing new functionality, and ensuring seamless integration with key SAP applications and services. The architect will create solution extensions based on customer requirements, provide design guidance to development teams, and oversee technical integrity across projects.
The role requires close collaboration with engineering, QA, and cross‑functional technical teams to ensure compatibility across all integrated components. Additional responsibilities include contributing to product strategy, reviewing documentation and training materials, mentoring team members, and engaging with customers to validate requirements and translate them into scalable solution designs.
Hands‑on SAP development experience is essential, including ABAP, CDS Views, HANA SQL, OData, SAP Fiori, and familiarity with core SAP modules such as Finance, MM, PP, QM, SD, PLM, and APO. Experience with SAP BTP, modern SAP development models, and integration technologies is highly beneficial.

- Design new solution extensions based on customer requirements.
- Provide architecture and design guidance to development teams.
- Guide engineering teams to develop, configure, and implement solutions to product development standards.
- Monitor technical team work and ensure standards align with SAP Solution Extensions.
- Ensure technical integrity, avoid duplicated work, and leverage common technical elements.
- Advise QA on test plans, test cases, and automation.
- Participate in product roadmap and strategy definition.
- Help create and review training, product, and solution documentation.
- Coordinate with technical teams for compatibility with other NextLabs components.
- Engage with customers and partners to identify requirements and translate them into solution designs.
- Lead customer solution delivery.
- Perform integration architecture and infrastructure design.
- Resolve technology integration issues.
- Mentor, coach, and train engineers and consultants.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through quality work and effective communication.
- Stay hands-on with RICEFW development and ABAP New syntax as needed.

- BS in computer science, engineering, or higher; 6–12 years of experience.
- 6+ years in SAP product consulting, systems integration, or architect role.
- Strong understanding of SAP best practices.
- Excellent ABAP development experience and understanding of SAP modules including Finance, MM, PP, QM, SD, PLM, and APO.
- Extensive experience with ABAP objects, CDS Views, HANA SQL Programming, SAP Fiori, and OData.
- SAP BTP and ABAP Restful Programming Model knowledge.
- SAP BW / BW/4HANA experience is a major plus.
- Java development experience is a plus.
- Ability to analyze, create system specs, develop tests, and implement business solutions using SAP technologies.
- Interface experience including web services, Java connectors, and REST APIs.
- SAP security concepts and authorization checks in ABAP objects are a plus.
- SAP Cloud technologies including SAC are a plus.
- Project/team management experience.
- Solution demos and presentations to customers/business stakeholders/architects are a plus.
- Compliance exposure such as GDPR, ITAR, and Export Compliance is a plus.
- Data masking and anonymization experience is a major plus.
- Strong SAP architecture and technical business-process data-flow knowledge.
- Performance tuning skills.
- Ability to assess and communicate technical risks and issues.
- Executive-level verbal and written reporting skills.
- Strong communication and deadline-management skills.
