SAP FICO Functional Lead- Remote with some travel

Lead full-lifecycle SAP FI and CO implementations, including configuration, workshops, functional specifications, project delivery, team management, stakeholder engagement, post-implementation support, and advisory services. The role also supports SAP SCM and potentially PMMO, mentors consultants, manages resources and financial metrics, and serves as an Associate Practice Lead for the SAP FICO practice in a regulated DoD environment.
SAP FICO Functional Lead- Remote with some travel
We are seeking an experienced Principal level SAP FICO Lead Functional Consultant to support a critical SAP finance initiative within a highly regulated DOD/A & D environment. This role will partner with finance and IT teams to deliver configuration, enhancements, specializing in FICO, SCM implementation and support across core financial processes. Implementation is also including PMMO so that experience is a "Nice to have"

Responsible for the full lifecycle implementation of FI, CO, and associated SAP modules from
sales pursuit to post-implementation support
Specializes in SAP package solutions and their functional capabilities, using them to address
business requirements, reduce costs, and improve operational visibility.
Also to work as an Associate Practice Lead for the Client's SAP FICO Group.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Manage a team responsible for SAP package software application implementation
through configuration and development.
Lead workshops to determine system requirements and document findings
Lead projects, allocate resources, and ensure on-time delivery
Configure FI, CO, and associated SAP modules
Provide functional specifications for technical development
Identify and address technical and operational challenges proactively
Monitor and report on project progress and financial metrics
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
Foster an environment of teamwork and effective communication
Establish and maintain long-term executive relationships by performing billable advisory
services
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination
of education and experience
8+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 3+ years in a similar
role years of relevant work experience in software engineering and management
Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies
Proven experience in team management and software project execution
Solid technical knowledge in package applications
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
Other Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in a relevant field a plus (e.g., MBA)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to lead requirements sessions and workshops
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Able to operate independently in fast-paced environments
