Salesforce Product Owner, Enterprise Systems 

 

What You’ll Do

As our Salesforce Product Owner, you will provide accountable business ownership for Salesforce across Vaniam Group. You will translate enterprise priorities, workflow needs, and business objectives into a clear product vision, governed roadmap, and measurable adoption and value outcomes. Salesforce supports critical Growth & Commercialization workflows and related client, opportunity, relationship, and marketing processes across the organization.

This role serves as the primary point of accountability for Salesforce product decisions, adoption, and value realization. You will lead cross-functional prioritization, define intended business outcomes, establish decision-ready requirements, and coordinate delivery with business leaders, IT Operations, Salesforce, and implementation partners. The initial focus will be strengthening platform stability, improving workflow adoption, maintaining support continuity, and creating transparency into platform priorities before pursuing significant new capabilities.

A Day in the Life

     Enterprise Workflow Enablement

    Own the Salesforce product roadmap and backlog to support the Growth & Commercialization workflow and related business processes

    Partner with workflow owners, business leaders, and functional teams to ensure Salesforce capabilities align with enterprise workflow objectives and business outcomes

    Prioritize enhancements, defects, automation opportunities, and technical debt based on business value, workflow impact, adoption needs, and operational risk

    Establish and maintain a transparent prioritization process that balances enterprise standards with agency-specific business requirements

    Define and measure workflow performance, platform adoption, data quality, and business value realization

     Product Ownership and Governance

    Manage roadmap planning, release prioritization, and delivery coordination for Salesforce

    Lead cross-functional requirements gathering, business process analysis, testing, business readiness, training coordination, and user enablement activities

    Facilitate Salesforce governance discussions involving business stakeholders, platform owners, data owners, and implementation partners

    Partner with Salesforce and vendor teams to evaluate platform capabilities and ensure investments support Vaniam Group priorities

    Maintain visibility into platform risks, support capacity, backlog health, and adoption challenges, escalating issues when appropriate

     Workflow Improvement and Automation

    Partner with business stakeholders to understand workflow requirements, evaluate improvement opportunities, and identify automation solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience

    Identify opportunities to standardize and simplify processes across teams while preserving necessary agency-specific flexibility

    Coordinate implementation of approved automation, integration, and workflow improvement initiatives with technical delivery teams

    Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, data governance, security, and interoperability standards

     Adoption, Value Realization, and Insights

    Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics that provide visibility into workflow performance, adoption, operational health, and business outcomes

    Define adoption and utilization measures and partner with business leaders to improve user engagement and process compliance

    Coordinate user training, communications, and change enablement activities to support successful adoption of Salesforce-enabled workflows

    Measure and communicate realized business value from Salesforce investments and workflow improvements

     Data Stewardship

    Partner with enterprise data owners and stewards to ensure data quality, consistency, and governance standards are maintained

    Support the implementation of shared enterprise data standards, definitions, and controls within Salesforce

    Ensure Salesforce data can be effectively leveraged across enterprise workflows, reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives

     AI Integration

    Identify opportunities to improve enterprise workflows and decision-making through approved AI-enabled capabilities

    Evaluate AI opportunities based on business value, workflow impact, user adoption, and responsible AI principles

    Partner with Enterprise Systems & AI Enablement to ensure AI solutions align with enterprise governance, security, privacy, and data standards

    Ensure all AI-generated outputs are appropriately reviewed for accuracy, confidentiality, compliance, and business suitability

    Support the use of Salesforce and enterprise AI capabilities that improve workflow effectiveness, automation, and user productivity

     Internal Responsibilities

    Collaborate with business, platform, workflow, and data owners to ensure Salesforce supports evolving business needs

    Participate in cross-functional initiatives that improve enterprise workflows, operational efficiency, and client outcomes

    Support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives that require Salesforce data

    Partner with technical teams responsible for platform administration, security, integrations, and operations

    Maintain strong working relationships across agencies and corporate functions to balance local business needs with enterprise consistency

    Other duties may be assigned to support enterprise workflow objectives and business priorities.

What You Must Have

     Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

    5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Systems Leadership, Revenue Operations, Commercial Operations, Enterprise Platforms, or a related discipline

    Experience owning a product roadmap, managing a prioritized backlog, and aligning platform investments to measurable business outcomes

    Experience supporting and optimizing business workflows across multiple functions, stakeholders, systems, and data domains

    Experience partnering with business leaders to define requirements, prioritize investments, and drive adoption of technology-enabled business processes

    Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and executive leadership

    Experience establishing governance, prioritization frameworks, performance metrics, and value realization measures for enterprise platforms

    Hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud or comparable CRM platforms

    Experience with reporting, analytics, workflow automation, integrations, and enterprise data management practices

    Experience supporting organizational change management, user adoption, training, and business readiness initiatives

     Skills and Competencies

    Ability to translate enterprise priorities and business objectives into a clear product vision and governed roadmap

    Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to define metrics and measure business value realization

    Executive communication and facilitation skills, with the presence to lead governance discussions across business and technical stakeholders

    Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and solve complex problems

    Ability to balance enterprise standards with agency-specific business requirements

    Ability to build strong working relationships across agencies, corporate functions, vendors, and implementation partners

What You Might Have, but Isn’t Required

     Experience with marketing automation, customer engagement, or commercial operations platforms

     Salesforce certifications, Product Owner certifications, or comparable platform certifications

     Experience operating within a federated organization and balancing enterprise standards with business-unit requirements

The Team You’ll Work Closest With

You will work closely with enterprise workflow owners, Business Operations, IT Operations, Finance, People Operations, agency leaders, and external partners. The Salesforce Product Owner serves as a bridge between business strategy and platform delivery, ensuring Salesforce enables Growth & Commercialization workflows, supports enterprise data standards, and drives adoption, operational effectiveness, and measurable business outcomes across Vaniam Group.
