ROLE
The Vice President of Retailer Partnerships will play a mission-critical role in the company at an exciting inflection point in the business. You will report directly to the CEO and own company’s revenue objectives, serving as the first non-founder evangelist of Happy Returns’ Full Stack returns solutions for online and omni-channel retailers.
This is a challenging, high visibility role that requires a variety of skills both as an individual contributor and as the manager of the sales, sales development (inside sales) and account management teams. You will lead a team of four that is planned to double over the next 12 months as the company continues its rapid growth.
You are an energetic and persuasive self-starter with a track record of success leading sales in early-stage technology companies. You can architect and implement an enterprise sales process, build relationships with decision makers, and succinctly communicate the benefits of Happy Returns appropriate for each stakeholder to build consensus and close deals. You will be a key hire and the primary driver of revenue growth for the company, leading Happy Returns on the front lines with retailer accounts and prospects. This role can be based anywhere, with a strong preference for Los Angeles, and will involve significant travel.
The Vice President of Retailer Partnerships will:
- Refine our enterprise sales process, implementing changes to people and processes to achieve company objectives
- Build a team of sales and account management professionals and create the environment for them to succeed
- Identify high-potential retailer prospects and grow new revenue from retailers of all sizes
- Build relationships with retailer executives and any operational stakeholders required to close deals
- Define and execute new sales strategies to build the pipeline and sell effectively
- Manage Business Development initiatives with ecosystem partners
- Report to the CEO
Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated success in leading a sales team at the enterprise level, including a history of exceeding sales quotas while selling a game-changing new service
- Ability to understand complex enterprise requirements and tailor messaging appropriately
- Ability to understand retailers’ technical and organizational constraints and help craft creative solutions to get them up and running quickly
- Passion for the problem Happy Returns is solving
- Outstanding people management skills; superior verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience at a growth stage technology and/or logistics company
- Prior experience and contacts in retail are ideal, but not required
- Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
