ROLE

The Solutions Engineer will:

  • Dual Report to the VP, Retail Partnerships and the COO
  • Be a key member of the Retail Partnerships team and sales process
  • Be the subject matter expert for the Retail Partnership team regarding all Happy Returns customer-facing services and relevant back-end technologies and operations processes
  • Discover and analyze individual customer goals and challenges and map those back into the Happy Returns solution portfolio
  • Present customized story-driven technical product demonstrations to potential customers that align with key business value and solution differentiation
  • Present Happy Returns technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security stack
  • Where appropriate, gather requirements and requests from customers for additional functionality and provide necessary input to the Product team to enable them to prioritize projects and write requirements
  • Respond effectively to the technical sections of RFIs and RFPs
  • Review and advise on sales proposals
  • Ensure implementation requirements are clearly transitioned to and implemented by Retailer Success and Product teams and where necessary perform implementations directly
  • Pre- and post-launch, serve as customers’ primary contact for all technical questions and help investigate and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the course of customers’ use of Happy Returns services
  • Provide Product team with Retailer feedback on strengths and weaknesses of the Happy Returns platform
  • Present Happy Returns solutions at relevant industry conferences
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment
  • Travel domestically

Requirements

  • B2B focus is preferred; B2B2C and B2C experience a plus
  • Passion for the problem Happy Returns is solving
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve business and technical problems in varied political environments
  • Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven time management & prioritization skills in a dynamic sales environment
  • Technical expertise in any of the following industries (digital marketing, enterprise data systems and analytics, business intelligence, web analytics, CRM, enterprise search and content management systems)
  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, MBA, or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience as a Solutions Engineer or customer facing Product Manager
  • An understanding of retail and the challenges returns pose for stakeholders preferred
