Donor Relations play a critical role in securing funding, sponsorship and in-kind resources for the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting philanthropic revenue goals and driving or supporting corporate and foundation fundraising opportunities as a key member of the Strategic Engagement team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop corporate sponsors, donors, and partners (e.g. corporations, organizations, foundations) to meet fundraising targets.
- Manage the pipeline of prospects, generate tracking and KPI reports, and communicate status updates including risks and mitigations in internal meetings.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Impact Partnerships to negotiate and close pipeline prospects in a timely manner.
- Develop, cultivate and manage new and existing corporate and foundation relationships throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Apply sophisticated consultative sales and partnership best practices to understand needs and structure mutually beneficial programs that deliver value to all parties
- Draft sales and partnership proposals, and work with Marketing Department to regularly evolve collateral materials and presentations for maximum impact
- Coordinate contract negotiations for corporate sponsorship with XPRIZE’s legal department
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in front line development, donor relations, and account management required.
- Impeccable presentation skills and outstanding communication skills essential for interactions with prospective sponsors, donors and partners at C-level
- Demonstrated independence and resourcefulness, while working within the framework of an integrated development program and team-oriented environment
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills, complemented by devoted attention to detail
- Experience supporting contract negotiations
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Exchange, and MS Office Suite, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Minimum of 5 years proven track record of identifying and closing corporate and foundation sponsors for a nonprofit or NGO (A proven track record in sales in a related field will also be considered).
- Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
- Experience with Salesforce or other fundraising database system to manage opportunities
